As far as the confusion as to where these events might take place, understand that "progressives" communicate on a higher level than we knuckle-draggers. Osmosis maybe? Alpha waves?

But at least they are both Star Trek phrases. Absorbed was from the original series on the planet controlled by Landru (essentially a computer). And of course Assimilated is from the Borg. (Although I understand he hasn't played tennis in quite a while)
