Linux users to SCO: Forget it! Linux & Open Source Center Editor Steven J. Vaughan-Nichols has a few ideas about what SCO can do with its license.

What would you do if you got an invoice from a company demanding payment for software that you've never bought from them? Throw it in the trash, right?

What SCO is doing is no better than a highway robber.

I thought you were in the SCO/Microsoft camp.

It appears that coral snake is one of those humans who, when subjected to reasoned argument, is capable of changing his mind. I salute!

Coral Snake - Does this mean you now are on the side of those you so loudly condemmed? Sorry, I really don't see what has happened to make you suddenly support what you previously referred to as "traitors" and "communists". However that is your right, but it is very very odd you could somehow now call these same people your allies. Not our Freeper brothers, but open source advocates such as Richard Stallman. I would not be surprised for you to change your opinion back one day after you contemplate it further, however I can assure you there is no chance you will change mine. Take care.

Actually I was never in the Microsoft camp at all. I just helped those trolls spread their FUD for three weeks because they were able to convince me that I was defending America by so doing. I now know the only real way to defend our republic in the computing area is to resist Palladium and that right now Linux is the only way to do that.

Simply put, as a longtime veteran of the computer industry, anyone who would in any way equate what operating system one uses with "patriotism" in any form is a blithering idiot. It's just that simple. If you care to argue the point, ping me........and bring some help.

Even a blithering idiot can tell there are many anti-American intentions in large portions of the Linux crowd. Most Linux suppoters aren't even American. And they continue to grow their strength in the Far East with Red Flag Linux and it's soon to be cousin in Japan. Sorry, every operating system I have used has been built and sold in America, and that's not about to change now.

Oh come now! Highway robbers have to get out. Wear a mask. Wear a snazzy cape. Have a ready supply of lupins for the ladies. Work on his charm. Write a theme song to hum while waiting for a carriage to come by.

SCO has more in common with barnicles or burrs.

I still kind of hope they win. But that's only because I hate UNIX more then burrs or barnicles. But, just because I detest one detestable thing, doesn't mean I don't detest a detestable thing in opposition to the first detestable thing. In fact, in a prefect world, I wouldn't have to care about either one.

I'm sure that SCO and Open Source are somehow karmicly linked and probably both deserve each other.

Oh! That reminds me I heard that Asia is banding together to come up with some new OS to dominate the world Asia style. My car in an Infiniti, and its pretty sweet. If anyone can make an OS that doesn't suck, I'm sure the Asians can.

I think you forgot the posts that I made at OS-NEWS where I first met you. I have always considered Palladium to be a part of a Fascist style conspiracy against this country EVEN MORE DANGEROUS than the leftist activities of some GNU and Linux people but was afraid to talk about that here.
I have talked to several of these Linux people, especially TechJunkYard, Liberal Classic, justlurking and rdb3 (the Penguin Pinger) over the weekend and found they can be very reasonable on these subjects when you don't resort to the kind of name calling tactics I was previously using. You will actually find that a lot of them don't like Mr. Stallman any more than you or I do. (He is generally considered a first class PITA in the open source movement and the low popularity of the term GNU/Linux I believe generally proves this.)

Coral Snake that is such a narrow and restricted train of thought I'm surprised you posted it. Palladium is simply one potential way of securing data one day in the future. There will certainly be other American-born options without selling out to foreign creations like Linux. But you're falling for the line of those that don't want ANY secured data, be it by Palladium or any other means.

To follow in the vein with the RIAA shills on this forum, all users of the Linux 2.4 kernel are stealing.

It's a ***damned piece of software, pal.

I beg your pardon? I am a strong Christian, and don't appreciate being spoken to in such ways. As for the rest of your post, I am very aware of what needs to be taken seriously, especially in these regards. Obviously, you haven't a clue, and only specialize in personal attacks, to which I am imune. Have fun flying off some more.

Quatrain 71, The Rubaiyat, Omar Khayyam

I see this listed on your personal page. Mind if I ask what it is? Just really don't have any idea. Thanks.

I've got some "shocking" news for you. Nicola Tesla who invented the electrical system your computer runs on was a FOREIGNER. He probably became a naturalized citizen but that does not distract from the fact that he WAS FORIEGN BORN. Despite who his father might be I'm beginning to see a lot of the Edison v Tesla fight in the Microsoft v Linux fight.

I'm not opposed to all foreigners, and CERTAINLY not those who desire to become American citizens through proper legal methods. Many dream of coming here and becoming Americans. Linus Torvalds has shown no desire for either. Therefore I will consitently choose any American product over his Linux operating system, be it Apple, Sun or even M$, all of which our economy needs to do well now.

Omar Khayyam was a Persian born in the latter half of the 11th century, and was a mathematician and astronomer. He rebelled against the Muslim influence, and engaged in poetry and philosophy.
That particular quatrain I like, because it reminds me that we act in the present, and that each action we take, once done, cannot be changed or erased. A similar idea was expressed by this man:

"I expect to pass through this world but once. Any good thing, therefore, that I can do or any kindness I can show to any fellow human being let me do it now. Let me not defer nor neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again."

Stephen Grellet, 1773-1855
French-born Quaker Minister
