An armed robber has fled from a McDonald's restaurant empty-handed after a pensioner attacked him with plastic trays.
The man left the take-away in Bloomington, Illinois, after he was set upon by 71-year-old customer Donald Sacry.
Mr Sacry was having a coffee when he saw the man enter the restaurant with his hat pulled down low and a mask over his face.
He said the man produced a gun and ordered an employee to give him money. Mr Sacry said he then decided to intervene and approached the gunman whom he initially just verbally abused. "I used a lot of vulgarity. I cussed him out pretty good. I was hollering at him," he said.
As the gunman watched a cashier about to open a cash register, Mr Sacry struck. "I grabbed some trays, about three, and hit him with them," he continued. The gunman had turned around, so Mr Sacry ended up hitting him in the upper back.
Mr Sacry said the man said nothing and seemed to be surprised that an older man was hitting him with plastic trays. "He was fooling around with a bad biker," said Mr Sacry.
The force of the blow from Mr Sacry knocked the man to the floor. When he managed to scramble to his feet, he fled the restaurant by a back entrance.
A 20-year-old Bloomington man was arrested a short distance away, says the Pantagraphwebsite.

VOLUME 35 ISSUE 33 15 SEPTEMBER 1999 Hamburglar Urges Senate Subcommittee To 'Robble Robble Robble' WASHINGTON, DCDenouncing a prison system he called "robble robble robble," hamburger advocate and convicted felon Hamburglar addressed the Senate Subcommittee on Penal Reform Sunday, demanding more humane conditions for the nation's inmates. "Robble robble robble robble robble robble robble robble robble robble robble robble," an emotional Hamburglar told the 12-member committee. "Robble robble robble robble robble. Robble robble robble robble robble robble robble: Robble robble." Reaction to the speech was mixed. "Certainly there is room for improvement in our penal system," U.S. Sen. Bob Smith (R-NH) said. "But I would hardly call the current situation 'robble.'"

"he initially just verbally abused."Glad to see he escalated the situation. The PC crowd hates it when this happens.

"An armed robber has fled from a McDonald's restaurant empty-handed after a pensioner attacked him with plastic trays."
According to eye witness accounts, the elderly man beat the robber with the plastic tray, then held up a Big Mac, and threatened "to cram it down the robbers throat." The robber fled in terror.

a Hot Coffee ShowerCan't have hot coffee in McD's now. It might spill onto the crotch when wedged between the thighs, you know.

Would he of thrown in a Hot Coffee Shower for kicks? ;) Not unless he could have it replaced for free.
He's been married to a dutch lady for almost 57 years,
she'd read him the riot act for wasting their money.
