Oooh. That's bad. A cerebral hemmorhage is pretty bad...and it can happen to just about anyone at any time.

Absolutely, Obannon is a nice guy and even though he is a rat, he backed those wanting the ten commandments on the state capitol.

Despite his politics, he is a decent man. He is an old-style democrat from Southern Indiana, and would be missed.

Yes, it is possible to be friends with a Democrat. I have MANY friends and relatives who are Democrats.

The lieutenant governor is on his way back to Indianapolis, he was also in Chicago for the same reason, the trade conference. He may be going back for the transfer of power.

The governor was alone when he collapsed, they probably don't know how long ago it happened. That is bad for treatment options.

The governor's wife is there, she came from Corydon. They just released information that he is critical and they are considering surgery.

Regardless of the jerks on this thread, O'Bannon is a nice guy and should be prayed for. He was conducting the business of the State of Indiana, and if he dies he will be mourned by many in the state.

I have lived in Indiana all my life, and I agree with you. He it type that you would love to have for an uncle or a father-in-law even if I don't agree with his politics.

In Jesus alone,
Andra

Prayers for the Governor and his family. May the lords hands lay upon them all and confer peace and comfort to them.

I can't figure out why Indiana has had 16 years of 'RAT governors when the state is so heavily GOP. Senator "son of Birch" Bayd makes sence and I could see a Dem winning ONE term as Governor as a fluke, but 16 years??

Does anyone know if O'Bannon is a "moderate" Dem? I've never heard him make any kooky liberal statements. He seems like an okay guy, at least for a Dem.

IN has had long-term Democrat governorships, but neighboring KY has them beat: 32 consecutive Democrat years. People in IN say they "vote the man," not the party. And they are the only northern state to TWICE reject Bill Clinton for president.

Thanks.

As much as I support the conservative cause, I don't let my partisanship stand in the way of my humanity.

Politics is a means to an end; it is not life, it is a part of life (a necessary evil, if you will).

I'll pray for him and his family.

I saw a report that said that he was found unconscious in his hotel room, and that he did not collapse during a meeting.

If you had to LIVE in indiana, you may not be so generous....this clown took a 200M budget surplus left to him by Goldsmith (R) and turned it into a 200M DEFICIT in less than 5 years......

Goldsmith (R)

No, I think he defeated a man named "Goldsmith" in 1996. He succeeded Governor Evan Bayh, who went on the Senate seat in 1998, formerly held by Birch Bayh, then Dan Quayle, and finally Dan Coats.

I have noticed that some "Democrat friends" blame problems that Democrats cause on Republicans!

I believe that governors and lt. governors in IN must be of the same party, right?
