If Tom continues going up he may be the Tim Pawlenty of 2003. Don't count him out yet.

Yeah really. Did Californians choose The Doofus cause he was an exciting and personable fellow?

Of course. And his erst-while successor appears to be doing pretty much the same thing.

Tom needs to work the media more. I just assumed I would support Swartzenegger until I heard Tom on TV. I want McClintock to win this thing. I don't see how it can happen, but this is what I want.
If exposure to him impressed me, it must impress others. But he can't get there hiding his light under a bushel. And I'm not sure the party is going to help him, they probably expect Arnold to be the front runner just like everyone else does. Tom needs to work the talking head circuit for all its worth.

I'm glad you like him, too! Tom has multiple media interviews every day (except Sundays). You can get the schedule on one of the TOM MCCLINTOCK DAILY EDITION - x/x/03 (CA GOVERNOR'S RACE) threads that Rabid Republican posts every day on FR, or at McClintock's campaign webpage at
tommcclintock.com (or helptom.com).

Bustamante knows that McClintock is direct in his positions on bringing Proposition 187 back to the courts, I was never that wild about prop 187. But an interesting fact that got lost in the shuffle, buried really, was that Anglo Californians and Mexican American Californians both supported 187 in about the same percentage, 60-40.
The press ran the survey and then buried it. The professional hispanics got out and organized marches which the press hyped and the fact that hispanic Californians actually agreed with it got flushed down the memory hole.
If you support 187 you are a racist, and no one will ever ask hispanics what they think of it again, not without some serious prep first.

Maybe instead of trying to think of ways to get McClintock to bow out, we should be looking for ways to get Swartzenegger out gracefully. He is looking for a way to serve, and I hope he finds it. I actually like the guy. But he isn't qualified, and he isn't a conservative, not really, even if he has some of the right sentiments.
Maybe we could offer him some kind of ambassadorship to some small to medium-sized country, I don't know, pick one... Austria, maybe?

Don't most voters usually vote for whomever is the prettiest?

Did Californians choose The Doofus cause he was an exciting and personable fellow? No, but considering the Doofus's polls right after the election, I am convinced he wasn't really chosen legally if you know what I mean!

Arnie won't need to worry about O'Reilly. A guy who thinks Senators chair House committees won't be too hard to snow.

All I can say is if you want him to win, go to his site and donate, even if it isn't much. It's the only way he's going to get his message out.
