I think it would be great if we had a FR thread from men and women serving/returning from Afghanistan and Iraq to inform us of what they see, hear, think and have experienced.

#709. I can't say where I was, However, I can say this: It was in a valley surrounded by mountains in the distance. Through years of warfare, bones littered the ground. So much blood flowed there over the years, the dust was pink.
varied terrain. There were trees and streams. The enemy was
not far away. We struck at the enemy with positive results on several ocasions. We have unbridled resolve to keep fighting until victory is achieved!!!! All the local Afghani's have been friendly to us. We have witnessed and have helped them in rebuilding their country. A highlight was handing a very old man who is a carpenter some clean bottled water. The sparkle in his eyes said it all!!!! They are very eagerly accepting their freedom and very busy in rebuilding their country. They (The local Afghani's) are very happy at being FREE!!!!:-)
