Here's a 27 year veteran who's recently returned from Afghanistan. The President said everything that was needed to be said! If we don't continue to press the enemy until he is no more, we will be fighting them on our own streets!

Thank you for your service. We can't pay you enough.

I thought by the end of that interview Sean had him on the defensive. Plus Clark made some REALLY stupid comments.

Just heard that mad maddie halfbright said that it's because we invaded Iraq that the world is so dangerous.

Heaven forgive me for my thoughts about the clinton administration.

yonif, I respect you very much. So let me clarify myself a bit to you. I believe in defense of two nations other than this nation of states. One is Great Britain, because that is where this nation for a large part came from.

The other is Israel. And that's because we should be on the side of God instead the side of man. They are His Chosen People. For that, we should arm Israel to the teeth, moreso than they already are and uphold a promise to defend them. The other issue I have with this administration is the 'roadmap'. And the reason behind that belief is that it's giving away land to a bunch of squatters in the hope that peace will be achieved. The problem is that peace will never be achieved for Israel until God gives that peace

Love your tagline - hard to believe that two years ago we were all going about our lives and so many didn't know they only had a few days left.

Er, dude. No one said we would ever "wipe out all terrorism" any more than we intended to "wipe out all Japanese." Yet there is a time when terrorism is essentially dead (it's pretty much dead in Northern Ireland), and there is a time when the enemy is defeated, though not eradicated. I'm sure there is some guy yelling "Banzai" on some deserted island somewhere, but, er, WE WON.

Very insightful question, Miss Marple.

BTW, I'm still looking for the good in Jimmy Carter - never, ever saw it displayed in any capacity.

Fineman says Dean will challenge the speech, the demo candidates will redouble their assault on President Bush.

OMG, let this be true!!!!

Again, I disagree that he was "so good." I question whether he was not a liar. Subsequent histories of the presidency suggest he was pretty mean and deceitful.

Your two cents are always worth far more John.

Well, not all people of all parties EVER follow their platforms. There are Libertarians who don't follow their platform. So it pretty much comes down to IN GENERAL, who advances my ideas the MOST, and right now that is the Republicans (and, since I'm pro-life, it can never be the Libertarians). When the GOP no longer advances more of my ideas than someone else, I'll switch.

#709. I can't say where I was, However, I can say this: It was in a valley surrounded by mountains in the distance. Through years of warfare, bones littered the ground. So much blood flowed there over the years, the dust was pink.
varied terrain. There were trees and streams. The enemy was
not far away. We struck at the enemy with positive results on several ocasions. We have unbridled resolve to keep fighting until victory is achieved!!!! All the local Afghani's have been friendly to us. We have witnessed and have helped them in rebuilding their country. A highlight was handing a very old man who is a carpenter some clean bottled water. The sparkle in his eyes said it all!!!! They are very eagerly accepting their freedom and very busy in rebuilding their country. They (The local Afghani's) are very happy at being FREE!!!!:-)

Great essay JH2. And a great speech by President Bush at the right time.

This speech tonight was the first comments made during a Week of Remembrance for most decent, patriotic Americans. I wonder if the Dwarves will tone down the rhetoric for the next few days.

President Bush has perfectly restated the reason why we must fight just as we approach 9-11 for the second time as a prepared nation.

We did not ask for this to happen in our time, but it did, and we must pass Freedom on to future generations.

This week, I spoke to a person intimately involved with the Edward's campaign. This individual said, when I asked if he was dropping out, that no way, and in fact was going to announce on Sept. 16th. He detailed how much money was raised to date, what they expected to raise, how many and which primaries they expected to win, and that Edward's would be in the top 3 by the convention. He also said emphatically that Hillary would not run, that she was going to stay in the Senate and that we could take that to the bank. If fact, he was going to have dinner Tuesday with his close personal friends, Bill and Hillary, and was going to have a high level meeting. If a democrat won, there was no way she would run in 2008. This all straight from her mouth to her close, personal friend. For what that's worth!

May be, may be. Who knows? The absolute indecent praise put on certain other Presidents is only starting to wash off after decades of indoctrination. I know it was fun watching the antics of Billy though. I just had to feel for a guy that had a brother like that and still would run for President

If Clark runs he will have to answer some serious questions about his involvemnet in Waco and why he was fired by Bill Clinton. Not to mention that he claimed the White House contacted him on 9/12/01 and instructed him to focus on Iraq, then he claimed it was someone connected to the White house, and now he claims it was a Canadian think tank that called him.

The fact is that General Wesley Clark does not have what it takes. He is a loose cannon with much to large of an ego and a damned liar to boot
