I saw part of it, I think everyone should see it at least yearly in perpetuity so that we never lose our anger and resolve to wipe those slimy no good terrorist scum from the face of the earth.
To: Timesink
Well said! I think we should see all the footage from that day. Without seeing the horror, we know not our enemy!! Without knowing our enemy, we become complacent, and it WILL happen again.

I agree - when I had Windows ME - you could set your pictures folder so it would rotate as your screensaver. However, my son just installed Win 2000 and now it doesn't do that - bummer. The problem is - I have all these pictures of 9/11 which I had rotating as a screensaver. I miss being able to see them - you're right - it kept the anger up and kept me motivated to write emails and fight against the awful influences we are subjected to on a daily basis.
I first saw the CNN film when I was attending an FR function in Las Vegas. I did not have cable at home, so I got to see it in the hotel room - it was stunning.

Did anyone else watch the A&E special the other night? It was called 7 Days or something like that?
The first hour or so was riveting, I cried multiple times. Then after that I noticed a definite "left leaning" theme.
It started by showing President Clinton (who actually, in my opinion was pretty good during the immediate aftermath), when asked if we were going to war with Afgahnistan said something to the effect of "The President will decide that, after an investigation". But soon they started showing all of the "peace" lovers fighting with the "war" lovers. They also never mentioned or showed President Bush, and only one quick audio of Mayor Guilliani.
I was pretty disappointed by the end of the two hour special. It gave the impression that we deserved this, and if we don't start treating the Arabs with respect we will be doomed to Hell.
Maybe it was only my impression, but I couldn't believe the lack of conservative opinions.

I watched it, my opinion is the same as yours. It WAS a LEFTIST piece. No conservative film maker view was present.

I saw it as well. I totally agree with you. The first hour - covering the attacks and immediate aftermath re-ignited my emotions from that day. The second hour was disgusting - full of "we deserve this" puke nonsense from the nosering, non-heterosexual, student crowd. Ratio of liberal commentary to angry patriot commentary was 10-1.
As far as Clinton showing up, I thought it was appalling then and even more so now in light of his direct role in leaving our country wide open to such a tragedy. Yes, he's a former president and lives in NY, but the camera prostition was disgutingly obvious. As was the Clinton bum kisser press asking HIM whether we should go to war.

My two favorites are:
CNN- America Remembers
9/11- The Filmmaker's Commemorative Edition (this is the one to order if you order only one.)

I ordered this very same DVD on amazon for $11.00 today. Don't screw around with Amazon; they're always a high-priced ripoff and for the life of me I can't understand why anybody buys anything from them.
How does $8.08 sound for the exact same DVD, brand new, shipped free?
Go here to get it at a far more reasonable price, and FREE shipping.

Thanks. I didn't know about that place, but have bookmarked it. You're welcome. Over the last year and a half or so, I've probably bought 50 DVDs from them. Never a hitch, always brand new, always shipped free and (in my state at least) always no sales tax.
They carry some outstanding films below 10 bucks, and I've bought 4 copies of "Standing in the Shadows of Motown" from them for an amazing $12.22 each for two DVDs worth of great stuff.
I hope this golden goose sticks around a while.

I'm sure he did. But the version I heard was that he was assisting the injured near the impact site, and was starting to work his way into the actual fire, when a USMC Gunnery Sergeant reminded him of his duties...
But, then again, it IS a sea story. And the difference between a sea story and a fairy tale is that the latter begins with "Once upon a time" instead of "Now, this ain't no s***!"
