A bit more expensive to extract, but once extracted it can go directly into a North American oil pipeline system. No tankers on the high seas.

Absolutely!! For safety we should ALL be willing to pay the extra to extract the endless supply of oil from the Alberta tar sands and tell the Saudi's to kiss their butts and stuff their oil. The phony "house of Saud" would fall in about three weeks!!
