Seems Katie Couric has lost some of her sang-froid. The perky "Today" show host just cut short her vacation near St. Tropez, where she was staying in a $25,000-a-week oceanfront chateau.

"She just couldn't take the heat," says a friend. "And the air conditioning wasn't the greatest."

Couric, representing NBC:
"We (at NBC) all hope and pray that Saddam escaped harm, and hopefully fled to Syria."

Couric's rep says she hasn't decided on her vacation plans for next summer.

My guess is she purposely chose France due to her leftist and anti-Bush leanings. What better way to prove her own beliefs.

Downtown Baghdad hotels have some nice suites available, I hear.

What she may not have known is that Provence, the entire southern part of France really, is quite conservative politcally and socially.

Very different from the large northern cities.

It's the only part of France where I'd consider buying a chateau.

It will not be long.

If it's bad, it must be America's fault. Ever since that evil George Bush "stole" the election, America's been ruining the planet. Someone, quick, bring back the Clintons. [end sarcasm]

Liberal democrats love anyplace where they can rub elbows with other bottled-water swigging America-haters. They also like the fact that they don't have to hang out with blacks or latinos there.
