My 18th birthday was 9-11-01, and so many people say they are sorry that that's my b-day. I tell them that I'm so proud to have a birthday on a day when so many Americans came together in support of their country and fellow countrymen. We lost so many lives that day, but they won't be forgotten. Seeing all these pictures from the Trade Center still gives me the chills.

Among the many thing written about this tragedy was an e-mail from the only American off the planet on that day. He was Frank L.Culbertson, commander of the first ISS crew. He said that during a conversation with mission control, they told him that "they were having a bad day down here". The understatement of the day. Anyway, it is a good read about his unique perspective of the event.
