Among the many thing written about this tragedy was an e-mail from the only American off the planet on that day. He was Frank L.Culbertson, commander of the first ISS crew. He said that during a conversation with mission control, they told him that "they were having a bad day down here". The understatement of the day. Anyway, it is a good read about his unique perspective of the event.

As one possible small item for a future memorial to all the victims of 9-11, perhap the Teutles from Rock Tavern, NY and "American Chopper" fame would donate their Firebike. I have seen it and it is a beautiful machine and very tastefully done. I hope that's what their plans are for it.
