Another big fish on his way out. Too bad, he got detained.

No No, this is bad. Was trying to escape to the Austrailian embassy to defect. Now the Chinese caught him and will probably return him to North Korea where he will be executed.

Vollersten, quoted on a human rights Web site, said Li had evidence of human experiments in North Korea (news - web sites). "Li" should be "Ri"...Is this a typo or am I reading it wrong?

>A North Korean biological weapons expert has been detained while trying to slip into the Australian consulate in China's southern city of Guangzhou to seek political asylum
"Archeology Professor Robert Burns is on location leading an important dig in the ancient ruins on the Far Eastern Chinese border. He accidentally discovers that the Chinese Mafia, the Tong, is using his newly discovered ancient Chinese artifacts to hide and smuggle narcotics across the border. Robert immediately tries to flee with his assistant and narrowly manages to escape the pursuing Tong but not without a heavy price. His loyal assistant is killed and he is framed with the evidence at the Chinese border by the Chinese military and U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency. [!!!] He is locked up in a Chinese prison where he is guilty until proven innocent. His loving wife Maya vows to help get him out of jail. The DEA finally convinces the Chinese military that Robert may be of more help to them outside jail by leading them to the real smugglers. Once he leaves his Chinese prison cell Robert would rather enjoy his freedom back in the U.S. and keep his past behind him, but The Tong catches up to him ..."

Norbert Vollertsen, the German physician-activist, deserves the Nobel Peace Prize for his endless efforts to protect the imprisoned citizens of North Korea, the biggest hell-hole jail on earth.
He is utterly fearless and will be assassinated by North Korean commies thugs in my view, I sadly predict.

Will China turn him over to N.Korea? China is building up forces along the border, not to help N.K., but in case of U.S. attack!

Detained? What's that mean?
Chinese communists grabbed him and pulled him back like they did others trying to defect?
Detained? Did the Chinese communist take him at gun point from the Australian consulate or did the Aussies happily give him to the Chinese communists?
Incidents like this clearly show where the Chinese communists stand and it is in no way on our side or on the right side and they are not straddling the fence or stading neutral.
Our policies to China are wrong and harm us.
