Not in jail --- usually a hit-and-run and if there were witnesses, he hightails it back into Mexico ---- pretty easy to get a new identity and cross the border with that one --- start all over.
Ha! You must be joking, right? He isn't going to go back to Mexico. Why should he? All he has to do is go downtown to one of the many fake document mills (now a cottage industry), and get new "papers".
