Oh, for a chance to vote on this issue. If Tancredo runs in a Republican Presidential Primary he has got my vote.

"Those elected representatives who were supposed to represent us are abandoning us. What to do? "
Maybe we ALL start acting like illegals - pay no taxes, flood the hospitals without having insurance, get free tuition to state universities, disobey the zoning laws by having 3 families to a home, urinate in public, pretend we don't speak English, work "hard" but perform substandard work, etc. Then maybe we can qualifiy for special education, drivers liscences (without having to pay for insurance first), minority preference in job hiring and promotion. Bush, and most Republicans and all Democrats seem to love people who live like this, and despise everything about honest American citizens except our taxes, so it makes sense to me to become one of them.
It's not only our elected representatives that are doing us in - its the heads of corporations, people who want cheap nannies and lawn care, and some church do-gooders who think they're saving the world by turning the US into a third world country overnight.

"We can choose either to keep these talented young people underground or we can choose to give them a chance to contribute to the United States,"...

This statement just blows my mind. And it came from the mouth of a conservative. These "talented young people" should be sent back home to apply their talent(s) there.

The site apppears to be down at the moment, but I know he wants ZERO immigration for seven years, trade reform etc. among other good things. The site should be up again I'm sure so check back.www.streitzforsenate.com

We had an unknown lady on Long Island almost beat Carolyn McCarthy with an immigration reform platform last year.

First of all i dont think young illegal immigrants should pay the burden of being "illegal";even though, they had no say to come to our country. But thats not why im posting this. Im here to alert our citizens that If the U.S. could increase the college completion rate of 18-year-old Latinos by just 3 percentage points, projected Social Security and Medicare contributions would grow by $600 million, a 1995 Rand Corp. report found. By conservative estimates, the economic contributions of Latino immigrants aided by the proposed legislation would pay back a state's education investment -- including the difference between in-state and out-of-state tuition -- within three to four years of their joining the workforce. Lets remember that these kids did not have a say to come here, and they have grown up with the rest of our kids, well at least my kid. And I just have to say that there are a lot of bright minds that should not go to waste.

A 1995 Rand Report eh? Well there are thousands of articles on this website about illegals and mass immigration wrecking schools, hospitals, neighborhoods, wages, Medicaid, etc. If you look I am sure you can find them. Too bad about the kids, though. And I mean that. Welcome to FR.
