Thank you for highlighting that very important portion about Deutch.
Very important.
Why did some who said one thing a scant few years ago change their tune? Why did the media, who has access to more sophisticated investigation tcchniques than just Google, ignore the factual state of the record and merely parrot the DNC talking points? (With impressive umbrage, too!)
These are rhetorical questions only to a point. It is a glaring truth that many media types did not expose these obvious flip-flops. And to think this is a matter of life and death for our country----this fight against terrorism.
But they know that......don't they.

Hi Dolly!

You are right!
Matthews throws in some red meat for the right, to create the illusion that he is not partisan. When the chips are on the line, he is nothing but a shill for the leftists.!!!

The glee that oozes from the left when the dow makes a downturn is telling as well. I honestly believe that a crashing economy would give them reason to dance a jig. Anything negative that happens to America is merely spinned into criticism against President Bush. I wouldn't be surprised to learn the many on the left secretly pray for another terrorist attack. Their deeply saddened rhetoric would merely be fodder for yet another anti-Bush campaign.
Sadly, so many are falling for the liberal media's constant barrage against our President. They control the alphabet networks and I can't conceive of a way to stop them. At this point, I can only thank God for Fox News and Free Republic.

Here's my thought on Chris Matthews:
I think he's basically a good guy at heart (hang with me here) but is not very bright when it comes down to it. In addition, for some reason he is predisposed to side with dem talking points big time. He will listen and be swayed by Republican or conservative points, but it doesn't "stick" because although he'll see the logic in these points, he can be talked out of it by the dems.
He really went overboard on the uranium story. I think whoever he listens to and really respects got to him very persuasively on that topic.
And I will say my impression is his wife (he calls her Kathleen my Queen) is a huge lefty influence. During impeachment he would be heading one way on one day, only to exhibit a contrary attitude the next day or so. He made references to Kathleen being a huge clinton fan.
He made a reference to her yesterday or the day before being a "modern woman" meaning she demands equality (I'll just bet----"Toe the line, Chrissy") and he said this when speaking of how middle America would have trouble accepting hillary because she's a "strong woman" (but don't disagree with her or you're against strong women).
Bottom line: I think I hold out hope for him one day seeing the light because I perceive him to be basically good, but tragically susceptible to lefty talking points. Tragic, not because it is beyond his control to reject these misguided and often evil notions, but tragic because it is in his control.
Don't know if that makes sense, but that's my take.

It is impossible tell the difference between their hatred of our president and the left wing hatredI don't think there is a difference. Warped minds think alike.
To: RedBloodedAmerican
Like you, I see no difference.
They have gotten worse as the economy and markets have gotten better.

Don't know if that makes sense, but that's my take. It makes a lot of sense, and you nailed it!
I remember Matthews during the impeachment(I watched him because my cable co. did not have Fox at the time)and he was so against Clinton on moral and family values grounds, but he would not go over the line on perjury, and obstruction of justice. IIRC he was for censure. I think he is like the alcoholic, that when ask "why don't you stop drinking, it is ruining you?" and the alcoholic replied "but all my friends are drinkers, I would lose them"

I agree with the second part of your statement. I finished with him when I saw that he felt no sense of breaching the Rules of Political Correctness in insulting everyone who lives south of Philadelphia and west of DC.
He obviously believed that he was speaking accepted wisdom instead of insulting every white southern American.
A good person who was trying to reach and enlarge his TV audience would not have uttered such statements.

A good person who was trying to reach and enlarge his TV audience would not have uttered such statements. I have to concede your point.
Also if one is confronted with facts yet willfully proceeds to carry on with propaganda, that is not "good".
To: cyncooper
I cyn... haven't "seen" you since war thread, I dont believe. Just got home. Great day. The world is probably going to pot, but when you are completely removed from all news, it is amazing how you don't worry (or at least me???)
So much to internalize & process.. whew.
Think I better sleep first.
Good to have your contact.. old times? somehow the connection with everyone from THAT thread during THOSE TIMES is very special..

This thread/article backs up your observation of how the left wing mediots/videoits overplay even a minor drop in the dow.
Then the whining and moaning third party flakes on Free Freepublic gleefully post these bs articles and rant on about how bad the economy is.
