He says if he was going that fast, the police would have never caught him. Anyone here know the top speed of most cop cars? I'd imagine 120 - 130.

The Ford Crown Victoria police edition is speed limited to 129mph. The Motorola can out run anything.

I've known people to outrun police cars. But I've never known anyone who has outrun a police radio.

Sport Compact Car magazine just did a test article on five popular models of police vehicle. It's not on the web yet, but here are the numbers:
0-60 1/4 mile time/MPH top speed
Chevy Impala 9.25 17.02 sec.@83.2 126 MPH
Dodge Intrepid 9.14 16.98@85.05 136 MPH
Ford Interceptor 9.14 16.99@84.10 128 MPH
Hummer(?) 20.65 22.11@61.80 85 MPH
Chevy Camaro 5.69 14.14@102.48 159 MPH
They of course point out that, while your 400 HP tuned Civic with kevlar hood and coffee can muffler might be able to out run most of these vehicles, nobody can outrun the radio.

Cop Car's ??? Heck Cop copters don't go that fast ! BTW I'm of the opinion this infraction was merely a source of revenue issue not a crime. If Uncle Sugar really wanted to keep us safe not a vehicle made or imported would be allowed to go faster that the national speed limit right ?
They made us all safer by making sure we can only kill 10 people at a time before we have to reload why can't they do it with vehicle speed. < / sarcasm >
In Italy and Germany I crusied the autostraza and autobhans at 120 and 140 all the time and still had locals on my rear bumper flashing their lights to "pass" me cause I was too slow !
I'd suggest in reality that there are not very many "quality" roadways in America where such can be done safely. But it had to be fun !!
