In 1988 I got a ticket for 143mph in a 55 zone. I knew the cop was lying because I was going faster than that.
1987 Mustang GT, BTW.

135mph (several times) in my Honda S2000. At that speed
it's like sitting on your sofa. It will cruise highways very
comfortably at 100mph.
At Summit Point raceway, before I have to haul it down for
turn one (late apex hairpin) I can just touch 120mph.
Great car.

I have had 3 different Ferrarri over 180:
'64 250GTE, was pushing so hard I was too worried about the car to worry about me.
'72 Daytona Spyder, with the top down, the wind will almost rip your ears off. Are we having fun yet?
'63 250GTO, this car should always be driven this fast, but gawd is it loud.

130 on the road between Asheville and Hendersonville NC (Rt. 29 IIRC). 1979. I was in the back seat. Considerable quantities of a North Carolina beverage called "Purple Jesus" was being consumed. 1:30 in the morning. Them telephone poles looked like a picket fence, no lie.
I'm lucky in so many ways.

Heard over the scanner because they didn't get me (statute of limitatations has ran out, it was in the 80s). I think the cops were exaggerating though to explain why they didn't get me. I also drove a Nascar race car at Atlanta Motor Speedway but I don't know how fast I went. 140 on a V65 once (it would've went faster though).

120+ in a '71 Chevelle passing a CHP on 280 south between Woodside Rd. and Alpine in the S.F. peninsula going home from Woodside H.S. Got off the freeway and ducked into my girlfriend's driveway in Ladera...staring out the windshield saying, "Stupid, stupid, stupid..." Didn't find me though.
Got home and didn't say anything. Dad borrowed the car to go to the library and when he got back he grabbed me and asked what happened to the speedometer because it was fried. I tried the old, "I dunno..." bs and he said he knew I was driving too fast because that's what always happened to the speedometer in his Olds when he went past the max. Then he got an oh sh*t look on his face when he saw Mom and left the room. That was 26 years ago and I still laugh remembering it.

157 mph on I10 between Sealy & Columbus. Took me ~ 2 miles to stop to keep the brakes from fading. Trooper wrote me for 110, the max his radar went at the time, and said he just had to ask how fast I was really going. After I told him, he asked if I wasn't a bit afraid of being maimed in a wreck at that speed, I said of course not, a wreck at that speed & I'd be dead.
Oh yeah - Kawasaki, 2 up. One fast bike....... :>)

Fastest I ever went was in my roommates 1969 Mustang Mach 1. 351 Cleveland 4 barrel. Got up to 145mph before tunnel vision set in and my foot backed off the gas. It was a little shaky on the way there, but after I past 70mph the car settled in and felt great. I wont be doing it again though...
