BATON ROUGE - Louisiana Attorney General Richard Ieyoub has become a NASCAR fan in recent months.

The gubernatorial candidate can't tell one driver's number from another, but he can rattle off numbers that show the nation's fastest-growing sport pumps a lot of money into the states that have NASCAR tracks.

Ok, I'm not a NASCAR fan at all, but I look for more fishy stories like this - ever since the media identified "NASCAR dads" as the next trendy voter bloc (like "soccer moms" were in the 90's), you can bet more politicians are going to come out and be NASCAR "fans". Kind of like Hillary "I'm a Yankee Fan" Clinton.

Can you imagine the party if they put a NASCAR track in Louisiana and then had a night race? Hell, that'd make an LSU home Saturday night football game look like a church social. :)
