Today, we will dive deep into my TREASURY of KNowledge

and explore

HOBBIES!

What is a hobby? Are they nothing more than strange obsessions that society has "allowed" us to pursue? Are they manifestations of our darker side, a deeper trek into the insatiable appetite for the strange and paranoid?

Hobbies, various leisure-time activities, usually involving collecting objects such as stamps or butterflies, or creating objects such as wood carvings or embroidery. Once limited to people of wealth and leisure, hobbies are increasingly pursued as modern technology makes more free time available to more people. See Crafts.

Some of us build model ships as a hobby..

Others build scale train layouts..

military models..

trucks, cars & planes..

Some feel that fishing is a hobby..

while others collect stamps..

A few of us enjoy cooking and one even writes books about 
their pleasure enjoyed..

The advantage to this notation is, of course, that it is both utterly trivial to compute with and completely self-explanatory (to anyone with an innate knowledge of geometry and number theory - say, the Atevi). And kinda elegant. Well, I think.

It is for real - assuming I haven't made any errors in calculation my feeble human self. You are invited to preen here if you can explain it =-).

And I hope you will excuse me if I find this hilarious....

The Fisher House program is a unique private-public partnership that supports America's military in their time of need by providing homes close to a loved one during the hospitalization for an unexpected illness, disease, or injury. There are currently 31 houses located on the grounds of every major military medical center and several VA medical centers. These houses will play a critical role in caring for casualties from Operation Iraqi Freedom. Donations will be used to help meet the cost of lodging for a family whose loved one was injured in Operation Enduring Freedom or Operation Iraqi Freedom. There is a limit to the number of families who can stay in a Fisher House and program is committed to help provide lodging for families who must find commercial lodging, because the Fisher House is full.

Access the Wounded Heroes Guestbook to write a message of encouragement for a hero wounded in the line of duty.   Messages in the Wounded Heroes Guestbook are viewed by wounded soldiers, their loved ones, and the general public.

One of my hobbies is collecting political memorabilia like campaign buttons and other items from past elections.

it started out with just presidential memorabilia, but since many of our presidents had other carrers and some of the most interesting elections were the ones for US Senate or other lesser federal and state offices.

I'd love to get hold of stuff from this recall election from California.
