I just turned on C-span to see the words $1 Billion Amed. to the Education bill by Mr. Harkin (D-Iowa).
Mr. Spector had a roll call vote. He said this amount exceeds the limit one can use in and amendment. Harking asked for the rule to be waved.
I filed this under Breaking news becasuse the Senate is LIVE.

I can't remember who say this but just the other day someone said that the feds only provide 7% of the money that schools use. I'll have to see if I can find a break down of where are tax dollars for education is actually going
