I guess my attitude on this case would be predicated on whether she ever filled out a DNR (Do Not Rescuscitate) order during her life or not. I don't see in any of the references I've looked at whether she ever did or not. If she has ever indicated that she wished not to be fed or watered if in a persistent vegetative state (as she is now), then that should be honored.

Yes, it should. I'm leary of the circumstances here though and don't trust her husband's stand on this at all.

There was no dnr, no living will, nothing at all to ever indicate her wishes except her husband's word that she once said - while watching a movie with various inlaws - that she wouldn't want to be on life support.
He failed to mention this for years after her collapse, only bringing it up after collecting over a million dollars in award money as a result of a medical malpractice trial, during which he gave heartfelt testimony that he loved his wife deeply and wanted to care for her for the rest of his life but lacked the funds with which to do so.
