I'd give Gagne Firemean of the Year, barring some late season brilliance from Smoltz.

I'm a bit of a stickler, though, on how the awards should be given. I think it's silly that a reliever can win FotY, CyYoung, and MVP.

Barring once-every-half-century performances, MVPs should go to position players, and Cy Youngs should go to starters.

Besides, Gagne gave up Bonds' 500th stolen base, and lost that game as a result.

Bonds is MVP again, btw (too bad for Pujols, who won't make the playoffs), and Schmidt is Cy Young if he has a strong September. CY is up in the air, otherwise. Ortiz, maybe.

Why shouldn't a pitcher win Best Pitcher?
Gagne has had the best season by a reliver, ever. (with a month to go)

The closer has a success rate of 100%. No blown saves since last season...47 straight. ERA 1.40. 122 KO's against 17 walks. Two MLB record fell to him this week.

Ortiz - ERA 3.71!

Bonds, however is MVP.

They also say it helps in identifying crime victims

Yeah. It's a good bet that everyone carrying one is a criminal.

I fail to see where Ridge uses any more than the basic colors so I must be in style.

Our hands are tied by political correctness.

Don't blame Bush or Ridge, its the culture we have helped create or have allowed to be created.

PC will be a valuable tool used skillfully by our enemies to inflict much much suffering to America.

Oh boy.....where to begin. Another Bushbot.

Are you aware that every 24 hours between 4000 - 6000 illegals cross our southern borders. These are the ones that "got away". This is from the INS / BP own records.

How safe are American citizens who live in Cochise county AZ?

STFU unless you actually know what's REALLY happening out there in our borderlands!

The Mexican IDs are under review by a White House-led panel to determine if they pose a security risk and whether the cards should be accepted as proper identification. Known as the "matricula consular," the card is issued by Mexico's consulates in the United States and shows the date of birth, a current photograph and the address of the card holder. Many of the cards have been issued to Mexicans living in the United States, including illegal immigrants.

"Under review??" Well, I'll give them the answer: YES, they're a security risk! Plus they're already being used all over California. And now we've passed a law giving ILLEGAL aliens driving licenses, in part through using these very cards.

This is too little and far too late. WAKE UP!

This is an in issue where the former Governor of Texas, now President of the US and I disagree.

As much I respect this President for his war on terror, I will be out picketing the WH the day he tries to get another amnesty through.

I agree with you though - and wonder if this isn't the "drip, drip, drip" of getting us used to things, one at a time.

All you thin and tall people are screwed.

Being a bit portly, that would make me feel better if I wasn't living in central Idaho.

Ridge says Mexican consular ID cards have security problems

Amazing. Even that bumbling stooge Ridge figured it out. Nothing that Mexico does can be trusted. It's by far the most corrupt, rotten nation in this hemisphere, if not on the planet. They've been pushing thordes of strip-mining peasants into out country unlawfully for decades. Mexico is a cancerous tumor in need of removal. The only bozos who need these ridiculous ID cards are illegal aliens, and illegal aliens are criminals in need of arrest and immediate deportation. You'd think 9/11/01 would have taught these so-called 'leaders' something. Apparently not.

You're right.
Bush has fallen flat on his face on border security. I think that our last great hope (bush) doesn't deserve re-election. I hate to say it, but, he doesn't seem to have the balls necessary.

Your right the entire country down there is a third world pit, that being exported into America. As Bush and the rest of these so-called leaders stand in silence, or actually support this nationwide lawlessness. Seems only about half the country is pissed off enough to speak out, so the politicos are still ignoring this crisis and are being paid off.

Besides, for the U.S. to fit their global, no borders world, they have to put America on the same level as the rest of the third world, and dilute this country enough where there is no longer any allegiance or values left. The people will eventually be totally fragmented. (Melting pot my ass) This will make American much easier to control when most pockets of nationalism and patriotism are crushed.

Bush is a globalist. He could care less about our sovereignty. I mean, look at his home state of Texas, it's totally over run with illegals and fraud, and Bush doesn't say a freaking word.

It's ok, illegal Mexicans don't need Mexican IDs, the bill that passed yesterday in California allows Illigeals the ability to get a letgitimate drivers license....Official USA ID card, recognized & accepted in all 50 states. I hope the Ashcroft or Ridge shuts this down before it goes into affect.
