Arnold Schwarzenegger, skipping the first debate of California's recall election, was egged Wednesday on a university campus but went ahead with a speech in which he said he is running for governor to give back to a state that is responsible for all his success.

I think he was just making a joke about Arnold's often questionable fashion sense.

A lot of us made fun of his gigantic blue ring too, after it was very prominent in a lot of his campaign photos.

Perhaps, but I'm not quite so sure it was really a joke. There was an implication of some specific reason to wear a yellow jacket to an egging.
