TAP EXCLUSIVE!!
First of Three Parts
Part I: PETA's Horrible Secret
We all know that PETA is quite possibly the most annoying and certainly the most arrogant of all the leftist groups currently attempting to alter our way of life. However, I doubt that outside of a few nosy people and former PETA employees anyone knows how they care for homeless pets in Hampton Roads, Virginia (their headquarters, right)...They kill them!
That's right, this warm fuzzy bastion of animal rights kills every once beloved family pet who has the misfortune of being carried through PETA's doors. People take animals to PETA instead of local shelters because they believe that they will be place into a home and will not be put down. Unlike local animal shelters, PETA doesn't even bother trying to find homes for these pets. All of them are killed within a few hours. In fact, PETA has gone through several area vets, after they refused to euthanize healthy animals. Finally PETA constructed their own facilities for this practice.
A former PETA employee spoke of one particular incident that burned into her mind forever: A teary-eyed man showed up at PETA headquarters one day with his beloved pet rabbit. The man had grown old and sick and was no longer able to care properly for his friend. He supplied a cage, bed, toys, and even vet records for this pet. He was assured by PETA workers that they would take "good care" of his rabbit and find him a home. The man left distraught but no doubt believing that his friend would be able to live out the rest of his life in a loving, compassionate home...PETA workers carried him to the 'death house' immediately and ended his life!
PETA doesn't stop with animals who are dropped off at their facility. No, they actively seek out animals throughout the community to kill. PETA sets traps to catch roaming animals all over Hampton Roads. These traps are designed to catch cats, many of these are not just strays but people's pets. They have even ventured onto a local federal installation, where they captured dozens of cats and immediately killed them. The cats at this particular facility were living in a 'feral cat colony'. They were well fed, spayed and neutered, and received regular veterinary care at the expense of the government workers. PETA in their renowned arrogance decided that they knew better and illegally entered the installation several times, stole these people's cats and ended their lives.
PETA employees and volunteers regularly enter private properties to capture animals, which according to former PETA employees are often times people's pets- someone's cat out for a midnight stroll or even just sitting in their owner's yard! Car loads of cats are regularly brought to PETA headquarters by employees and volunteers whose job it is to 'round them up'. One such volunteer has brought in hundreds of cats, many wearing tags bearing the name and address of their owner. The animals are loaded into a small storage shed, where they sometimes sit for several hours in the heat and cold...awaiting their date with the executioner.
We have all seen the outrageous costumes worn by PETA wackos. As an example of just how callous and truly bizarre these people truly are, two of the employees who perform the euthanizations came to a PETA function dressed as syringes! PETA's co-founder (Alex Pacheco) left the group over its absurd policy of feline genocide. PETA's mission statement, written by that group's leader Ingrid Newkirk states "We believe that animals have an intrinsic worth of their own". So Ms. Newkirk...Did you forget your mission?
In researching this article, I spoke to former PETA employees as well as people whose pets have been stolen by PETA (which were undoubtedly killed). Everyone of these people were willing to talk to me but insisted I not divulge their names or even the cities in which they now reside! When I asked one of these people why she was so afraid of retribution from PETA, I was told..."They will take it out on my animals".
Ingrid Newkirk is not only hypocritical but incredibly cruel. Euthanasia is something which is at times necessary, I know this all too well as I have had to make this heart-breaking decision. It is something that is done as a last resort, not a first response. It is a decision which must be made out of love and compassion, with a great deal of soul-searching. It is not something to be committed out of haste and blind loyalty to some feminazi. It is done to end suffering or when all efforts to find one a home has failed. It must never be done to animals that don't belong to you!

We see this same tendency in PETA's allies, the so-called peace movement, in which kidnapping, torture, and the cruelest forms of murder (bus-bombing for example) are rationalized as "self-defense" and "resistance to oppression" while the very right to survive is questioned when it is invoked on behalf of those whom the peace movement opposes (Jews and Americans). I believe that this power-affirming hypocrisy is an actual component of these groups' agenda, and not simply a means to an end.
For info on breed-specific legislation and PETA, you can read Ingrid Newkirk's own press statement on how pit bulls ought to all be euthanized at http://www.pitbullregistry.com/PETAletter.htm, including her statement, "People who genuninely care about dogs won't be affected by a ban on pits. They can go to the shelter and save one of the countless other breeds and lovable mutts sitting on death row through nofault of their own. We can only stop killing pits if we stop creating new ones. Legislators, please take note."
This is from 2000, the same year she took on Best Friends Animal Shelter here in Utah. She derided Best Friends, the nation's largest no-kill shelter, for their "No More Homeless Pets in Utah" project, which she called naive; her press statements came after the folks from Best Friends investigated the Associated Press's report of how many animals PETA had killed after having picked them up. (Living in Utah, I can attest to the good work that Best Friends does, taking in animals no one else will take and either finding them homes or maintaining them in a comfortable setting for the rest of their lives. And their "No More Homeless Pets in Utah" campaign has made huge strides toward ending euthanasia in shelters, as more people learn they can adopt the animal of their dreams that way.)
The Associated Press's Matthew Barakat reported, in 2000, that "Last year, the Norfolk-based animal-rights group took in 2,103 companion animals.
It was able to find homes for 386, and put down 1,325. (Transfers and reclamations by owners accounted for most of the rest of the animals PETA took in.)" These numbers were as reported to the state of Virginia by PETA. (There's a copy of the AP story at http://www.fegan.net/peta_kills.htm). In that same year, the Animal Adoption and Rescue Foundation (AARF) in Richmond, VA, said, "a no-kill philosophy is not as unattainable as detractors claim. AARF found homes for 1,062 cats and dogs last year. It euthanized none", according to the Associated Press. These are just a few websites and references to recent PETA actions and statements. I came up with these in about fifteen minutes of web-searching; there are many many more out there. My point is not to say that people who support PETA are evil or even hold bad intentions. But I think that PETA has been very effective at positioning itself as a mainstream, animal-supporting, organization, while conducting some very unpleasant business out of the spotlight of the mainstream media or the public eye. And I worry that individuals who think "it can't happen here" and "they would never really be able to do that" and such are contributing to PETA's ability to do exactly what they're working toward. As an animal lover, that's something I find very very frightening. I support your right to believe as you see fit, but please, be sure you really have all the information you can gather first, before you make up your mind.
PETA euthanized more than 1,000 animals last year
By MATTHEW BARAKAT © 2000, Associated Press
RICHMOND -- It may seem surprising that People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals -- a group that often comes to the defense of rats -- euthanized more than 1,300 cats and dogs last year.
But PETA President Ingrid Newkirk says it was the only humane thing to do.
Last year, the Norfolk-based animal-rights group took in 2,103 companion animals. It was able to find homes for 386, and put down 1,325. (Transfers and reclamations by owners accounted for most of the rest of the animals PETA took in.)
``It is a totally rotten business, but sometimes the only kind option for some animals is to put them to sleep forever,'' Newkirk said. ``I don't think a dog living in a cage walking in circles for the rest of its life in a dog prison is a swell thing.''
While several dozen shelters in Virginia have adopted a no-kill philosophy, PETA has not.
``It sounds lovely if you're naive,'' Newkirk said. ``We could become a no-kill shelter immediately. It means we wouldn't do as much work.''
Newkirk said PETA goes into bad neighborhoods and rescues animals that are unadoptable.
``Nobody wants most of the animals that we touch,'' she said.
But Terry Wagoner, president of the Animal Adoption and Rescue Foundation (AARF) in Richmond, said a no-kill philosophy is not as unattainable as detractors claim. AARF found homes for 1,062 cats and dogs last year. It euthanized none.
She acknowledged that some animals -- feral dogs, for example -- can be dangerous and are essentially unadoptable. But many other animals are written off prematurely, she said.
AARF has been able to adopt more animals than any other no-kill shelter in the state through an aggressive foster-care program, Wagoner said.
``It takes three things: money, adoptions and foster care,'' Wagoner said. ``It's not going to work without those three.''
Advocates on either side of the no-kill debate agree on the need for aggressive programs to get animals spayed and neutered.
AARF will not allow an animal that hasn't been fixed to be adopted, Wagoner said, and AARF will spay or neuter an animal as young as 12 weeks old.
Newkirk said there's a simple solution to the nation's pet overpopulation.
``We need to make it expensive to license an unsterilized dog or cat. ... We need to make it expensive to breed dogs and cats,'' she said. ``The program would pay for itself.''
And who here doesn't like meat? ;-)
Go figure! So much for PETA being so concerned about animals...
I have to correct this. It is perfectly legal to shoot dogs running deer in many states. Picking up strays in locales where there is a leash law also has many procedures that you must go through to contact the owner or give the owner time to contact the pound before euthanasia is carried out. And this is true even of feral animals, because it could just be a mean old cat or dog, not a feral one. Even if the animal's time runs out, if the workers feel it's an animal that stands a good chance of adoption they will generally keep it around as long as possible. At least that's how our very small city pound worked. It was sad how many animals that were obviously someone's pet came in and no one called after them. :-( Didn't want to pay the impound fee or whatever, so they just never look, and the animal is destroyed, and the people very likely go out and get another free/cheap animal from some backyard breeder.
Seems very obvious these whackjobs are pro DEATH. Preferably human, but animal too.
Oh yes right, and what unbiased news do you read? Since when have stories that put the favorites of the left in a bad light made the front page?
If you name the locale it may very well be enough for people to figure out which employees are turncoats and take it out on the animals.
I don't know unequivocally whether it is true, but it RINGS true, and that's the point.
This specific article TRS is not out of the realm of potential for these folks and any 1 of the doubter's can search for the knowledge if they desire it .
I know you know this . I'm thinking lurkers might take the initiative and get activiated . Thanks again !
I was just at a carpeting place the other day where they had a nice little cat roaming around the store - I petted it and it ended up following me around the entire time. Hmm...
Yeah, they don't round up cats with a horse and lasso, they use live traps. It could still be referred to as 'rounding up' a bunch of cats.
PETA has been very much linked with some of the official domestic terrorist groups - so why not this idiocy? We know what terrorist groups do to innocent bystanders and how much they REALLY care about those that make up what they say their cause is, so why would PETA be any different?
And yes, I would be the first to believe any story of evil behavior coming from PETA nuts. Because it RINGS TRUE TO FORM.
PETA is in the first pulldown list but there are tons of other groups and individuals that activistcash keeps track of. I think it was last year sometime that the (president?) of activistcash talked to Medved on Rush's show once when Rush was out, about IRS documents linking PETA to groups like ELF and ALF.
