I know a bunch of ex-Vietnam vets, like my older brother, who did a lot of shooting and getting shot at. Some are Dems and are now real pacifists and some like my brother are Republicans. To me they're all heroes although none of the ones I know try to capitalize on their experiences. I dislike Kerry because he is a pompous fraud not because he and I disagree on issues. He has put his own ambition ahead of serving his country. Dems need someone to lead them out of the morass of left-liberalism. Kerry could have been the one to do that, but unfortunately he has gone down the wrong path.

My mother loved swiss cheese on apple pie - even better if the pie was still warm.

"My better half puts CHEESE on apple pie. Go figure."

As my Mother used to say; Apple pie without cheese is like a kiss without a squeeze. It's really good - especially a sharp cheddar.

John Kerry has been in the US Senate since 1985...since before he married Mrs. Heinz.

He may remove his jacket, but he wears those bi-ig white shirts a la Algore and Gary Condit. Dean wears colored shirts that aren't all big and starched and poofy, and oh so out of touch with the rest of us. In short... Kerry never got the memo about casual day.

He didn't throw HIS medals away -- those were in a frame on his wall. He threw some medals he got at a PAWN SHOP away at a peacenik rally. I'm waiting for him to try to take credit both for being a war hero AND a peacenik.

Please, everyone note, the symbolic backdrop that Kerry launched his inspiring bid for the Presidency in front of was an old ship that has seen its glory years long since pass, an obsolete veteran of a bygone era, something that has outlived its usefullness, yesterday's news, a collosal museum piece.

I served with plenty of people who were genuine heroes and got the medals to prove it. Many of them are democrats. Demeaning someones service, like Kerry, just because his politics are insane is just not right. Kerry served honorably and bravely. Doesn't mean he is right on his politics, but at least he had the guts to serve unlike plenty of others.

At least Frenchie picked a ship with a good name, evocative of the last time the French did something to help us--the battle of Yorktown.

I totally agree with you on that. The men in the cemetary are the real heros, as well as the men you cited in your link.

Apples and cheese compliment each other. They are a natural paired any way you want to combine them. Cheese and citric acid do not go together, so when serving cheese stay away from oranges lemons et.
