My grandson has a lot of the same issues as yours but elevators were the absolute worse.

Oh dear! If we couldn't use elevators, the kid would barely be able to go anywhere! My son is conquering these things one stairway at a time. I'm very proud of him! Unfortunately, getting comfortable on one particular set of stairs doesn't "expand" to all stairs. Each fight is new.
