HOLMES COUNTY -- Police are looking for an individual who shot a 23-year-old man in a cornfield late Monday night.
A group of 10 youths aged 15 to 23 were throwing tomatoes and shooting paint balls at passing cars along SR 241. Witnesses report that a light colored Lincoln or Cadillac was hit as it passed. The driver threatened the youths, but as he passed after turning around the car was hit again.
About a half hour later the vehicle returned and passed the spot several times. It then stopped and the driver challenged the group to throw more tomatoes after getting out of the car. He then pulled a shotgun from the vehicle and began firing into the field, striking 23-year-old Steven Keim multiple times.
Keim was pronounced dead at Joel Pomerene Hospital at 12:37 pm.
The shooter is described as a middle-aged man of medium build. The car is a light colored Lincoln or Cadillac and may have opera lights located on the door post between the front and rear doors.
If you have any information on the shooting please call the Holmes County Sheriffs Office at (330) 674-1936.

This is a sad situation, and I hope this shooter is brought to juistice. But I also have to say a 23 year old is not a "youth", but an adult. (his friends maybe, but not him)

That's what I'm thinking. What's a 23 yr old doing throwing tomatoes at cars? Arrested development.

They call him a "youth", so the Brady bunch can add him to their "gun shoots child" statistics.

"The shooter is described as a middle-aged man of medium build. "
This is PC gone amok; describing a murderer-at-large but omitting his RACE???

He then pulled a shotgun from the vehicle and began firing into the field, striking 23-year-old Steven Keim multiple times. Keim = social retard. Some "youts" killed a woman here a couple of years ago by dropping a cinder block (or large rock - I don't remember which) off an overpass. Went through the windshield and kilt her daid. I don't remember if the police ever caught them or not. If not, no matter, the police were surely "protecting" us by issuing speeding tickets.
This could be considered a preemptive strike on a$$holes before they worked up to actually killing someone. Still the death penalty for vandalism is a bit much (it wasn't my car)

I admit, I did throw tomatoes at cars. When I was 15.
I stopped after I had to go wash a guy's car on Sat. morning or face the State Police.

An object lesson to people who refuse to believe that there are consequences for what you do to other people. One just never can really know when they are going to run into that person who is willing and able to teach the lesson.
It really is not a very good idea to throw tomatoes and shoot paintballs at passing cars. It is, in fact, a bad idea.

"middle-aged man of medium build"
They ought to get quite a few leads off that description.
