Kerry then interjected to say that he also spent one night in jail; his spokesman said it was in 1971 when he was protesting the Vietnam War Under arrest!

Trudeau is too busy bashing GW these days. Back in '71, JFK(erry) made a good target though.

Sailing with the real JFK in '62.

Well, well, well. You sure have dug up some interesting photos and the Doonesbury cartoon is a winner!
By the way, Carl Cameron was just on and said Kerry might draw some flack for saying essentially that he voted for a THREAT of force, not the USE of force.

One more photo of JFK(erry) sailing with JFK.

Missed the Carl C. bit, too busy finding these old gems...

Teresa Heinz Kerry article, very interesting. I haven't been paying much attention to these 2 till now.
This should be a fun campaign, watching the unpreditable Mrs. Kerry. JFK(erry) can never be too sure what she's going to say!

I notice President Kennedy wasn't particularly interested in the young Mr. Kerry. I guess the president didn't get close enough to catch that aura of looming greatness from the young chap.

I agree. It was the most difficult part of the War. I blame it on feckless politicians who were afraid to speak out against the treatment of the military who were just instruments in carrying out national policy. We had a draft, which meant that many service personnel were not there willingly. It was easier politically to pander to the anti-war movement. I blame the politicians for telling the military how to fight a war
I blame those at home like the Clinton's and Jane Fonda on how our military was treated.
There was a draft during WWII .. there were folks that weren't thrilled to fight in that war also ... but our country never spat on the troops
I agree, Ronald Reagan helped bring honor back to our country and most of all to our military

Kerry? Common folk? Not according to some of the articles I came across today. He came from a very priviledged background apparently.
But you'd never know it from the way he talks now.

To: Mo1
Not only was he from a privileged background, but he was even dating Jackie Kennedy's half-sister at the time of the sailing photos.
