How gay is your car?

A French website dedicated to gay motoring enthusiasts, Clubautorainbow as well as the Daily Telegraph gave the Peugeot 206cc the thumbs up for Gay Car of The Year.

The website says the winning qualities of the 206cc include originality, unconventionality and its design. Then of course there is also the fact that a lot of gay people have bought the little French drop-top.

The runner-up for the website's title was the MINI Cooper and the third prize went to the New Beetle. Other firm favourites in the running were the Smart City Coupé and Mercedes SLK.

Cars that were just "gay enough" were the BMW Z4, Jeep Wrangler, Porsche Boxster and the VW Golf.

Among the "closeted" gay cars were the Audi A3, Chrysler PT Cruiser and Fiat Multipla.

The Daily Telegraph's choice for the top gay car were also the topless Peugeot with the Smart, Mini Cooper, Mercedes SLK and New Beetle short on its heels.

According to the Telegraph heterosexual cars include the Lamborghini Murcielago, Ferrari Enzo and Alfa Romeos. The Renault Scenic and the Citroën C5 are apparently super-straight cars.

Car That Can Park Itself Put on Sale (in Japan) by Toyota

If that isn't gay, what is?

If it backs it self in, I'm outta here!

Pontiac Firebird, 305 V8. 1991. Manual transmission.

My greatest regret in life is that I gave up my candy apple red, 1983 Trans Am, manual, 305, after a fender bender. Should've fixed that car up. That baby was fast.

If the Firebird/TA is gay, I'm in deeeeeep trouble. Those are the only cars I've ever owned. 1981, 1983, 1987, 1991.

Hell, I'm due for an upgrade. Ram air, with t-tops and a manual transmission, if you please. Oh, and nothing less than a 305 will do. And make it black or red, none of this yellow or teal stuff...

Dude, the answer is blowing in the public john off Castro Street! Axe the manufacturers. If they can and do "target" certain models at certain "market segments" - example: VW Golf at 20 sumping chicks - doncha think they are targeting this or that model at this particular consumer group? Start by checking out magazines and newspapers read by momma's fruitcakes. I suspect, without doing any research, that small "fun" ragtops are being advertised.

I can say unequivically that the ultimate gay car is any Subaru.

I can't disagree with you there. I saw a few Volvos and Suburus(wagons especially) that had a rainbow and a Granholm sticker on them.

Ford is already on record that they are actively marketing the Jaguars & Volvos to gays. The print commercials seem to bear this out

does anyone know if Subaru is a sponsor for the WNBA?

I imagine that would be a given.

If any Porsche is gay, then someting is wrong with the world

All Porsches are gay. Either that or a very strong sense of male inadequacy.

But then again, there is something wrong in the world.

Iow, cars either over a quarter million dollars or cars not available in the U.S.

I drive trucks and Jeeps, nothing "gay" about it, except the fun I have! I tried the yuppie cars, like BMW and Mercedes. Not much fun in those. Pavement pussies.
