We are on low carb meals at the Ditter house. The going is slow but we are not giving up. I was just feeling a little sorry for myself so I invented Strawberry Milk. A cup of low fat milk, a handful of ripe strawberries & Sweet&Low in the blender. Its not a strawberry milkshake but I don't feel sorry for myself anymore. Thanks for the great pizza recipe.

Try using frozen strawberries to give it a smoothie texture, also try using splenda instead of sweet&low, it tastes pretty close to sugar. Or stevia, I am told, although I don't use stevia. Unless you are used to sweet&low already - I can't stand the taste.
Also, if you like yogurt, that gives it a smoothie flavor, too. In other words, I make something very similar to what you make only I use yogurt, frozen strawberries, and splenda, and I call it a strawberry smoothie.

I really suggest you read Atkins' book more closely. If you're doing low-carb you should not be drinking milk, low-fat or otherwise. Milk is sweet for a reason!

Ditter, here's an easy desert.
1/4 cup unsweetened shredded coconut
1/4 cup sour cream
1/4 cup heavy cream
3 packets splenda or sweet/low
couple of strawberries, or handful of blueberries
splash of cognanc
Split equally between two bowls, mix and serve. YUM!

A cup of low fat milk, a handful of ripe strawberries & Sweet&Low If you look at the low fat milk carbs - it's way high - (the higher the fat content the lower the carbs - weird huh) try half-n-half or even heavy cream - it'll taste more like a shake - if you need sweetener - then add some - but I doubt you will need it. Enjoy

A polite question for you: If you are on a low-carb diet, why are you drinking milk, and low-fat milk at that? And strawberries? Are milk and strawberries considered okay in your particular diet, or are they banned?
The reason I ask is, on my low carb diet, we do NOT eat low-fat anything, and milk and strawberries are banned during the first phase of the diet. Just wondering...
If you want to speed up your diet, I would suggest actually doing the low carb thing -- and eliminating milk, strawberries, other fruit and other high-carb foods. Unless you want to torture yourself and lose weight really slowly... Remember, the faster you lose, the sooner you can have an occasional high-carb treat...!
I have lost 46 pounds doing Atkins and have 15-30 more to lose, which should be easy. My brother is down to 189 pounds -- I am at 214 as of today, my lowest weight in years.
Dropping from a 42 inch waist to a 36 inch waist is a wonderful thing.
