Bruce Springsteen to perform at Shea Stadium
I work at Shea Stadium ^ | N/A

Posted on 08/31/2003 5:15:15 PM PDT by Nitro

The word is Bruce Springsteen is scheduled to perform at Shea Stadium on October 1st and 3rd. If those shows sell according to hopes, two shows will be added on the 4th and the 6th.

This is not etched in stone as far as I know but all indications are that it will happen!

Again, no guarantees, but this is looking about 80-90% sure... you decide!

I'll see all the shows because I work there and the vendors have been warned to keep these days open on their schedules.

Being he is so verbally anti-Bush and I believe the war, I am sure the crowd will either boo him or not go then?

As a registered Independant leaning right I agree, but this in NYC which is 80% Liberal Demon-rat and of course Jersey people will do anything for "The Boss!"

I hate his politics but he does put on a good Rock-n-Roll show.

Let's just hope he refrains from articulating and just does the music.

Well Cindy Lauper, and John Cougar are certainly going to be envious! I'll wear my best topsiders and argyle socks.

Who cares? The guy is a troll. He stands for nothing that he can't control. His first album was great, but after that, he became a narcisstic bafoon. A midget who thinks he's Atlas.

Since I'm on the west coast I guess I'll just have to toss a few chicken bones in the garbage disposal and imagine I'm there.

I'm not bragging about it, I'm announcing it. To me it means more work with almost guaranteed overtime, not to mention girls in semi-revealing clothing eventhough it will be a little chilly those nights.

I'm just trying to drum up some business so we can get the third and fourth show.

And more women.... of course!

But I'll say it again, if I wanted any sh*t out of Bruce I would squeeze his head!!

Ping to response #10.

I am an employee, I have nothing to do with the decision or the choice.

To me it just means more work and some good looking women!

I'd like Nugent to go one on one with that guy, Tom Morello, from RAGE AGAINST the MACHINE. That guy make Springsteen seem like a right-winger!

Nugent is playing the B. B. Kings Club, 42nd Street between 7th and 8th Avenues, NYC, this Tuesday
evening, 09/02.

Bruce Springsteen is playing Fenway Park for two nights next weekend. I'm sure they will be great shows. But my days of going to rock concerts in stadiums and arenas are over. To me, it's all so much bother. Fighting the crowds to find your overpriced nosebleed seat and paying $7 for a burger and $5.25 for a 12-oz plastic cup of watered down beer. Then you need friggin binoculars to see the people on the stage. Then after the concert that you never really saw, you must now sit in a crowded parking lot for two hours before you can even start moving.

When all is said and done, you have paid out a couple hundred dollars and you ask yourself why you didn't just spend a quiet night at home with a good book, a cold mug of beer and your CD player.

Thanks for the ping, Nitro. The Boss is also playing up here in our neck of the woods on Tuesday, September 16, 8pm at the brand-new Rentschler Field stadium in East Hartford, CT.

I won't be attending, though. With the exception of Sean Hannity's fabulous "Freedom Concert" last July 11 in NJ, my concert days are pretty much over - can't stand the crowds, hassle, $$ and noise anymore!

Sean's concert was first-rate... none of the above complaints! :-)

Hey man... get outta my head!!

That is exactly the way I feel about everything and anything that takes me out of my house!!

It isn't anxiety or nerves or any of that crap, it is the fact that somehow I always get stuck next to the guy who is exuding the stench of curry through his pores...

did you ever notice that no matter which way you turn or go left/right, some a-hole will short-circuit your route?

P.S. I have been to Boston for a concert on the Commons, I forget who, my cousin dragged me along, I have also sailed with my Uncle out of Scituate(?) Harbor.
