As a member of the Austrian Army in the 1960s, Schwarzenegger was a tank driver and trained in this M47. Years later, he acquired the tank from the Austrian military.

Could be worse, I could have pasted that picture of Arnold with that bare breasted woman on his shoulders with the sign saying Bustamante.
Then it would have been, "Thanks for the mammeries"!

That's a nice gesture Arnie.
Now, what is your economic recovery plan for California? You said, NO specifics and NO details until after the recall election. That's bunkum! Give us the specifics and details now. Take the NO tax pledege while you're at it, Arnie. Cut your ties to the liberal Democrat Warren Buffet and the tax hiker Pete Wilson. And tell us Arnie, how you're going to reduce overall state spending, when the education budget is off limits to any cuts. The education budget is roughly 40% of the entire state budget. A brief explanation is in order, Arnie.

May I see McClintock's current plan, please? The only thing I've found of his is from the mid 90's...
Thanks :-)

I love tanks. Hell of a death to go through if yours gets shot up, but otherwise, and awesome vehicle!

Of course, as a tanker buddy told me, a lot of things that will knock you flatter than dirt won't scratch the paint on a tank!

Yea. I guess it's how you look at it.
In theory you'll survive longer in a tank, but you'll probably die a gruesome death.
Dying on a battlefield for 2-3 hours from a gunshot or frag is not very appealing. Might be better to get torn to shreds by spalling and rounds going off.
Of course, nobody knows just how painful that 2-3 seconds is in a tank being burned alive and sliced into hamburger.
I used to work in a burn ward, and I'd say I'd probably rather get shot then burned alive in a tank.

What kind of fuel do these tanks take?

Now you're being a smart aleck. I've posted everything to do with Tom McClintock's legislative record, his conservative policy agenda and his economic recovery plan for California, on several occasions and given all the proper links. Silly girl.

Okay. Since you apologized to me the other for being soooooo rude... I'll round up the links.
I have one question. Why is the 1995 analysis that McClintock co-authored, called, "A Citizens' Guide to the State Budget Mess" an invalid document? It covers 217 specific reductions that could be made in the California state budget. Remember, Arnold hasn't given one specific detail on his plan. I think this analysis would be an invaluable budget cutting tool for the next Governor. Especially for a political novice and empty suit like Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Then there's the recent legislation, authored by Tom McClintock called BRAC (Bureaucracy Realignment and Closure Commission) , which flew through the State Senate 36-0. McClintocks legislation, SB 9, applies to the budegetary problems that exist today in California, by how to "identify, downsize or eliminate obsolete bureaucracies in state government".
The there's McClintock's economic recovery plan for California. It covers all the hot button issues in the minds of Californian's.
*Cutting and then eliminating the regressive car tax.
*Addressing the issue of overpriced energy contracts.
*Addressing the out of control, worker's compensation law.
*Ending governemnt waste.
The last one is most interesting. McClintock has proposed a three step program that will balance the budget. Here it is.
STEP 1. [R]educing current expenditures by 9.5 percent and then holding at that level for 18 months would eliminate the deficit without the tax increases, raids on local government and pilfering of pension and special funds that the Governor has proposed.
STEP 2. [T]he discomfort of frugality could be eased dramatically if accompanied by a comprehensive review of every state agency and program now on the books.
STEP 3. [A]constitutional spending limit must be restored. California had such a provision from 1979 to 1990, commonly called the Gann Spending Limit, restraining the growth of state expenditures to the combined growth of population and inflation.
And finally, here's a link to Tom McClintock's State Senate webpage, "The Issues". It has all the legislation that McClintock has been involved in going back some time. It gives all the specifics and details on everything from Education, Energy, Family, Transportation, Infrastructure and LIberty Issues.
ENJOY!
