EUGENE, Ore. -- A lesbian couple alleges that O'Hara Catholic School refused admission to their 4-year-old daughter because of their sexual orientation.

The couple has complained to the Eugene Human Rights Commission and the Oregon Child Care Division.

One of the women, Lee Inkmann, said O'Hara Principal Dianne Bert told her in mid-August that having a family with two mothers at the school would confuse other children, and that gay unions are in conflict with Vatican teachings.

So, you insist that the problem and punishment is on the part of the Catholics?

No. I said the problem was on part of the parents. Originally at least.

The punishment on part of the Catholics was misguided and unjust, and only compounded the problem.

Why should the school want the kids to suffer for because the parents are not practicing heterosexuals?
What for? Who benefits from this?

You call it short-sighted, I see something else deeper on your part.

LOL! Please demonstrate to us what gift you have that enables you to devine the "deep" and hidden things about me...while leaving you unable to even read what I have posted on a public board.

I just might get back to you on that one as soon as you answer the question (that you may or may not have read *twice*) I have posed to you so that I can better appreciate your perspective on this "punishment by the Catholics" issue.

What question was that?
And what is so hard to understand about my belief that the children are the ones being punished..when they are the ones being banned from the Catholic school?

I will be patient with you and explain again: the Church, nor the Parish in question, has "condemned" the little kid for her parents (?) sins. The Parish has exercised its right to deny admission, with the best welfare of the child AND its other enrollees--AND their parents.

I think you're being more than a little pushy about this...

The child cannot win in an environment where, eventually, it will be clear that her parent/s(?) are living in not only an immoral fasion, but an un-natural one, as well. This poor kid will be emotionally crucified when that happens.

Further, there's not ONE good reason why the Parish should expose its current crop of enrollees to the situation which, of course, will become known within 2 weeks of the first day of school. And there are a LOT of good reasons why the Parish would not want to put current parents in the position of trying to explain to their children why "Jane and Sally" are parent/s(?)

The kid will be damaged, but not because of the Church. The kid was maliciously damaged by the selfishness of her parent/s(?)

Don't you dare try to pass the blame to the Church.

Well, Jorge speaks!!

Thanks for your opinion, which is, as usual, wrong.

WHen you grow up, have lots of children, and even get responsibility in your job--for the welfare, (e.g.) of OTHER people's children, you may just understand what's going on here.

In the meantime, STFU.

Did you hear that people?
Miss ninenot declares me wrong.
Of course she left out the part that explains what I am wrong about, or the part that actually addresses anything I have posted, which is "as usual" Miss ninenot's typical MO.
BIG surprise.

Short sentences, sweetie:

The Parish made a decision.

The Parish did not "Condemn" the little girl.

The Parish has 200+ OTHER little girls and boys to worry about.

The Parish has 400+ OTHER parents to worry about.

Jorge is a twit and a disruptor and her mom disowned her.

Once again we see Miss Ninenot's wonderful talents for name-calling and personal insults....while she avoids actually addressing any arguments made by those she disagrees with.

Imagine this. Because I don't believe that a CHILD should be rejected, stigmatized and punished for her parents being lesbians, I am therefore considered an evil "disruptor" in Miss Ninenot's book.

Pray for her.

Right. I've had no problem "handling" your feeble challenges.
And responding directly to them.

You're the one hiding behind the skirts of Miss Ninenot and her insults as we see above.
You're a coward.

***The idea that these kids should be banned like poison from school because some holy roller hypocrites want to punish them for their parent's shortcomings is mean spirited, short sighted and a poor Christian testimony.***

Do you want government officials to remedy the situation?

Private schools should be able to admit,or reject, anyone that they want, without any explanation.

All it takes is A SINGLE JUDGE to find a NEW CONCEPT which is NOT EXPLICITLY MENTIONED in the Constitution, and we will see Religious Freedom banned from the Courts. This is what the left has been planning and carrying out for 30 years.

Clearly this would be a violation of the Frist Amendment rights of the school and the church that operates it.

All it takes is a MYRON THOMPSON-clone to say otherwise, and the Attorney General of the State of Oregon will be forced to take action against the Church.

I tell you a revolution is coming in this nation. Get as many guns as you can afford, and land far from the cities NOW.

That is, until they get vouchers and are forced to accept anyone. Remember VMI and the Citadel?

Precisely why I am against vouchers. Get the King's coin, do the King's bidding.
