Republicans (i.e., principled conservatives) can and will wait three years, if need be, for the real thing. They will vote McClintock now and in 2006 will rule in a GOP primary and the general election. By then, even Barbra Streisand may be ready to support a real Republican by then. She pays taxes too.

The future of your party and your state is too valuable to roll a 2 in the crap game of 2003 by voting for the surrender monkey puppet Barbarian. Arnold is a RAT in GOP drag, no better than Doofus or Bustamante. Considering that he is managed by Wilson and advised by Buffett, that is no surprise.

You are either delusional or on drugs. Streisand does not care anything about paying taxes. She has plenty of money and the advisors to shield most of it from taxes.

Streisand wants a Socialist utopia, just like Bustamonte and Davis.

Now you are counting on Barbra Streisand's vote in three years, when you won't even tolerate moderates today???? So what are you going to give Barbra for her support? She's (and all the others who think like her) going to vote pro-life, pro-family, anti-immigrant, pro-gun out of the blue???

You won't get in a coalition with Riordan or Schwarzenegger or Giulianni, but you are fully prepared to make common-cause with Streisand types in three years!?

If I could bend around that far, I'd quit my current career and join Barnum & Bailey!

My position all along has been simply that Schwarzenegger does not need your votes to win. He can win without them. However, that means you have no seat at the table when it comes to impacting his policy. You can take your ball and go home. You have an absolute right to do just that. And when policy is made you have abandoned any influence you might have held over what that policy is.

You see, I don't think that your voting for McClintock or whoever else may appeal to you will necessarily throw the election to Bustamante. Scwharzenegger only needs a relative fraction of those who are arch-doctrinaire-conservative in order to win. Their numbers are not plentiful enough to damage him seriously. And he will get a chunk of them, no matter what.

So those who are of your opinion can go into his coalition or not...at your choice. If you joined his coalition, he would have to listen to you, because you helped him win. If you don't, he doesn't. He won without you.

Now as far as predicting what is going to happen in California in the next three years: If you can see the future as accurately as all that...by all means, get into work as a stock-broker or at least get one of the 1-900 psychic lines and make some big money off of it. Anyone who can predict a situation where Barbra Streisand is going to go hard right in three years is worth a veritable mint, especially in California.

If a RAT rules California until 2006, tax payers in the other 49 states will be bailing out YOUR state! McClintock will have faded into obscurity and "Babs" will STILL be bashing Republicans! Companies will be leaving California IN DROVES to avoid the taxes! The Republican party will have survived. But hey, you'll still have your "principles" intact.
