Social conservatives have a viable candidate in McClintock
TORONTO, August 28, 2003 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Steve Jalsevac, a long-time political analyst with Campaign Life Coalition Canada suggests that were actor Arnold Schwarzenegger to capture the Republican Governorship of California it would mean political damage for the Republican Party. "A core constituency within the Republican Party is its social conservatives, most importantly those who are pro-life and pro-family. Schwarzenegger is so obviously a liberal on social issues, his running as a Republican reeks of opportunism and demeans the party's integrity," said Jalsevac.
Republicans have another capable candidate in the race who is considered authentically conservative. California State Sen. Tom McClintock, first elected to the State Assembly in 1982, is also running. McClintock ran for state controller last year and lost by a margin of 0.3% to a Democrat. In that race, McClintock captured more votes than any other Republican on the ballot. In an interview with Human Events released today, McClintock acknowledges that he is pro-life and pro-family and willing to act legislatively on those convictions.
"As we have seen so many times in Canadian politics, conservative parties are usually a delicate balance between fiscal and social conservatives, and where fiscal conservatives are so insensitive as to alienate social conservatives, the Party suffers debilitating division," Jalsevac told LifeSite News. "Arnold may well give the Republicans Governorship of another state, but his strong liberal stance on social issues will damage Party unity and weaken critical differences in policy between the two major parties."
On a radio talk show yesterday, Schwarzenegger attempted to appear less offensive to social conservatives saying that he is pro-choice, but against "partial-birth" abortion; that he supports current domestic-partnership law but not gay 'marriage'". However, Schwarzenegger's Republican strategist Allan Hoffenblum was candid about the actor's negligible chances of appealing to social conservatives. Speaking of "family-value types", Hoffenblum said, "that is the group that is least likely to vote for Arnold Schwarzenegger regardless."

Yes! She is just like a rabid liberal at work. Got their knickers in a real tight knot! Gloria allcommie and xians in bed together. What will these strange times bring next?

Social conservatives should understand that the election of Schwarzenegger is WORSE than a retention of Doofus, WORSE than the election of Bustamante. There must be at least one party that resists social revolutionaries if California is to have a future. That party should be the Republican Party NO SOCIAL CONSERVATIVE OWES ARNOLD OR ANY OTHER RINO ANYTHING WHATSOEVER MUCH LESS A VOTE FOR GOVERNOR.
His attitude on the right to lifers and the pro-family folks reveals him to be their ENEMY. You expect Doofus and Bustamante to be wrong on these issues and toxic waste politically and you are right. If the only alternative were Arnold, then progress on the issues that matter would be impossible. Fortunately, there is McClintock as an alternative. Vote for him. Even if he were to withdraw, it would be vitally important to vote for him. Prove the point in-party that no pro-death RINO and no pro-lavender RINO will ever be elected. All the RINOs worry about is money and there are far more important things in life. That makes RINOs VERY VULNERABLE and social conservatives will find it easy to attack the RINOs where they hurt since they have such a simple one issue wish list.
Arnold is taking the "give the noisy bastards a penny" approach. Every innocent human life is precious. We may not be able yet to save a majority of those being led to the abortion mill slaughterhouses, but pro-lifers MUST not vote for someone who contemptuously thinks he can call off the pro-life attack dogs by saving a few dozen a year. We can and will save those through Congress and real Republicans like Tom Delay. Nor need pro-family folks (in California, which cast 62% of its vote for defining marriage as between one man and one woman last year or the year before) settle for Arnold's contemptuous little routine of redefining gay "marriage" and supporting it as "domestic partnership" which is nothing but make-believe "marriage" without divorce court.
No, this is not rocket science! If this smarmy jackass in an elephant skin acts like this DURING A CAMPAIGN when his chief stumbling block to power is pro-life/pro-family people who despise his essentially Demonratic candidacy in GOP drag, THERE WILL BE NO, REPEAT, NO PROGRESS AFTER HE IS ELECTED.
What you are really saying to pro-lifers and pro-family folks (and to gun folks and, whether you admit it to even yourself or not, to people who oppose taxoholism and spendoholism) is please, sit down and shut up because we RINOs want the jobs and the contracts and the money and we want guns, babies and morality to be out of politics altogether. NO SALE now NO SALE EVER! You do not need or want Weicker West.
If McClintock cannot be elected in this strange form of election, three more years of Demonratic fiscal follies, three more years of Demonratic corruption, three more years of rule by the Demonratic Party which combines the worst qualities of Adolph Hitler, Willie Sutton and Dykes on Bikes should cure even enthusiastic baby-killers among Californians of Demonratic leanings. The Allreds' abortion mill chain will be unable to pay the colossal Demonrat taxes and will shrink. Doofus/Bustabudget taxation will threaten the efficiency of California baby-killing and its availability. If the slaughter of the innocent is not a business, just what is it?
The two incomes/no kids (so long as Arnold is not governor) faggots will start to realize that no one will send police patrols to their boudoirs and passion pits but that Demonrats guarantee that even the combined "partnership" income of Ms. Bruce and Ms. Lance and Ms. Justin will not support Doofus/Bustabudget's California Scheming.
Why settle for sloppy seconds? In three years, you get the whole GOP agenda not the pathetic little RINO agenda and the public will be soooooo enraged at the Demonrats that you may get the General Assembly too.
It is NOT a circular firing squad. To be a circular firing squad would require pro-lifers and pro-family and pro-gun and anti-taxaholism and anti-spendaholism folks to be on the SAME side as their polar opposites. They are not and NEVER will be.
The firing squad is a disciplined line of actual Republicans up on the protected heights, commanded by the shades of Stonewall Jackson and George S. Patton, Jr. The targets are the huddled, cowering stew of Starbucks types: Doofus, Bustamante, Zsa Zsa Huffandpuff AND Schwarzenkennedy the Barbarian down on the unprotected swampy plain below, commanded by the shades of Molly Yard and Tiny Tim, trying to figure out who goes down last. It does not matter. They are all going down within three years. Take Arnold down first.
This is an excellent reason for not voting for Arnold.
He is not a California native
This is a excellent reason for having you thrown out of the country.
From my perspective Arnie is part of the problem, not part of the solution. Arnie's Proposition 49 is a $500 milllion dollar per year boondoggle in socialism.
Guess you just moved to the state.
Ronald Reagan was a democrat. I think a more accurate thing to say is 'if you're stupid, you're stupid'.
Is it just because you want it?
Is it because some of you fear the coming Mexican majority in California and want to alienate it as soon as possible?
Is it because y'all understandably dislike Doofus and Bustamante and think it would be kind of neat to have a genuine movie screen action hero as governor even if the man is a total embarrassment as a candidate and without a SHRED of princiople to his name?
Why do you think that social conservatives should have ANY loyalty whatsoever to RINOs like Wilson who have stabbed the GOP in the back: again, and again, and again?
WHY?
Go Arnie
Dang, I hope so! The man is brilliant. I also trust Arnold to do as he sees apropriate with the input.
Go Arnie
