In Alabama, the judge who defied a federal court order "had his heart in the right place, but his head was not," Ruegemer said. "You obey the law. You obey rulings of superior courts whether you agree or not."That's his opinion and he's entitled to it.

You obey the law. You obey rulings of superior courts AND my question is: "Which is it? Do you obey the 'law' or the ruling of a 'superior court'?"
(NOW we're getting into the predicament of - "DO you obey an 'illegal' order?" IMO.)

It is not just opinion if you are a judge. A citizen can defy a court order and suffer the consequences. If you are a judge, one of the consequences is you shouldn't be a judge. Plain and simple - the system doesn't work if judges get to decide for themselves what orders are to be followed and which aren't. I back Roy Moore's right to defy an order he considers to be unlawful, to the hilt. But he can't use the bench to do it.
