Back in the 1950s, Compton Jr. College came to play Kilgore Jt. College in a football game and I got to talk to a student who came to see the game.Still remember that exchange. It sounded to me that California had a good system, with the 2-years colleges open to almost everyone and with the potential of completing their education at foru-year schools. Of course, they also met the needs of kids with no real acdemic bent with work related programs. How has that changed?

Please see #33. I am pleased that two of your children received a worthy education at a Cal State. There are a few with outstanding departments -- Cal State Chico and Cal State Long Beach come to mind. It also helps to have students who demand much of themselves; they will make it anywhere, despite the mediocrity that permeates the student body and faculty of the Cal States.
