You know, he couldn't act as her guardian if he was in jail even for a few months. Someone needs to pull a Barney Fife and declare a CITIZEN'S ARREST. Hmmmmmm, wonder what the rules are on THAT in Florida.

Good link. Thanks.
Probably the main reason I thought of it is because I've been on too many Elizabeth Smart threads - Mormons & polygamy, Celestial marriages.

And he's most certainly guilty of this one:
(1) Whoever, through culpable negligence, exposes another person to personal injury commits a misdemeanor of the second degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082 or s. 775.083.
(2) Whoever, through culpable negligence, inflicts actual personal injury on another commits a misdemeanor of the first degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082 or s. 775.083.

Although it may be against the law per se, I'd be willing to bet that nobody would even bring charges up against him for this. Wouldn't it be great though?

Judge Greer also approved payment for Dr. Death and all the other doctors brought in to testify Terri is a vegatable. Not to mention court costs and hospice payments. I am praying so hard for Terri, I would take care of her if that were possible.
To: Ohioan from Florida; kimmie7
From what I'm reading, Judge Greer is held in high esteem in Florida, the Bar Assn, etc.
Trivia: He likes to ski in Colorado.
Attorneys, to the best of my knowledge, hold clients' monies in Escrow Accounts. Am I wrong that apparently this judge allowed payment to Felos from Terri's money?
Have to go to bed - 'nite all.

No you are not wrong. Judge Greer authorized the money to be given to him from her medical fund.

I don't know about you all, but I'm having a blast finding all the Florida statutes that have been violated in this case. I've got at least 7 so far.

LOL I said that 2 hours ago and it is now 2:42 am.

I keep going all over the place so I haven't thoroughly looked.
To: dixiegrrl
I looked and so far there is no statute on the books about common law marriage in the state of Florida. They removed it in 1968 and I can't find any newer statutes.
To: Robert Drobot
Thank You for the welcome! Wish it could have been under better circumstances. Fran

According to the Florida statutes he is also guilty of cohabitation. It is illegal in the state of Florida for an unmarried man and woman to live together.
To: Canadian Outrage
CO again I have to agree with you. This case is breaking my heart as much as poor Laci and Conner. I think this hubby just failed trying to do what Scott Peterson succeeded doing. If Terri doesn't die she could get well enough to point the finger at him someday. What is wrong with all these sick people. There is another way called DIVIORCE.

The 2002 Flordia Title XLVI, Chapter 798.01 provides:
"Whoever lives in an open state of adultery shall be guilty of a misdemeanor of the second degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082 or s. 775.083. Where either of the parties living in an open state of adultery is married, both parties so living shall be deemed to be guilty of the offense provided for in this section."
If the statute hasn't been repealed or amended, it would appear that both Mr. Schiavo and his pillow mate are both criminally liable for indulging in their mutual pleasure, while Terri lay suffering in her hospital bed.
"In 1992, her husband successfully sued doctors who were giving her medical treatment at the time of her collapse. She received $700,000 and he received $300,000.
By 1995, Mr. Schiavo was living with another woman, with whom he had a child, according to a 2002 interview he had with CNN. -- Julia Duin, The Washington Times, 01 Sept 2003 "Gov. Bush backs parents in fight to keep life support"
To: palmer
Ms. Anderson told of x-rays that were taken when Terri was initially taken to the hospital as a result of the mysterious trauma she suffered. The x-rays revealed healed but untreated bone fractures to her back, leg and ribs. As I recall, Anderson said it was medical opinion that the untreated leg fracture resulted in a ball-like growth on the bone. Taken from post #145.
This suspician of abuse was in one of the previous threads on FR. I was just repeating what someone had posted here.
Check out some of the previous threads.
