Tom McClintock is a man that democrats and independent voters can get behind. Perhaps they *can* but thus far, they have not!

He chose not to run in the recall....
If Gary Coleman can run, then Danney can, too.

Being a non-Californian I know squat about McClintock other than he supposedly is a real conservative. I am somewhat skeptical of that since it is rare to see a real, true conservative (i.e. limited government) politician have much of a career. Be that as it may, I could also write lots of other articles such as: Why America Should Return to a Constitutional Republic, Why Judeo-Christian Values Should Be Restored, Why the Federal Government Should Be Returned to its Pre-Lincoln Stature, etc. But none of it will ever happen given the apathy and outright stupidity of the general public. I am afraid Arnie is your best shot. Shot at what? I have no idea other than no longer being the Gray-out state.

Danney Ball ran for governor of California and lost in the 2002 primary to Bill Simon.
There's a big surprise.

He is not going to sit in the governors chair and try to tout social issues or impose conservative ideas on the citizens of California. Dont shout that too loud or you will cost McClintock the few votes he has.

Tom is a family man of principle. He has no outside interests and can spend all of his time just doing the job in the rough days ahead. What we need now is someone who knows how the state got to this point fiscally, and how to get us back on course without huge tax increases or radical cuts in education and other vital services.I have not heard him calling on some sort of "working with fellow republicans" in order to fix California's financial hick-up. So far it is "I" will do this, "I" will sign this, no sign of some sort of cooperation among all parties involved.
It's like "the knight in the shiny armor" saga...I TMcC the California saviour,...beware of my wrath, you all, if I will became Governor I will fix all California's ill's with a stroke of the pen, just like that.Further more I will issue executive orders to do what ever the hard liners are telling me to do.
If every one is so bent out of shape about the Bill giving the illegal Mexicans Driver's Licence, why is Mr McC not filibustering this bill into oblivion if it is such a bad bill? Why is he not blocking all those obnoxious Dem sponsored bills and put them in the lime light? If they can filibuster on the federal level, you can damn right filibuster on the state level.
Me thinks Mr. McC is riding a white painted horse...

The Arndroids better figure out how to get Arnold's memory back in a hurry, or he is toast. Nobody forgets spending four days with a reporter talking about his sexual expliots, unless he was smoking bigger joints than those cigars he is so fond of. Memory loss and/or dishonesty, is not something we need in Sacramento in this time of crisis.

Undoubtedly. McClintock
should be governor.
Jim Robinson should be President. Jeff Head should be the Secretary of Defense.
The question is, is there a Republican who can beat Bustamente, and what is his name?
I think it starts with an "S".

Shouldn't he first learn how to fill out a couple of forms correctly? After all, he is the career politician.
McClintock shut out of voter's guide: Republican candidate loses last-minute Supreme Court appeal

California Republican gubernatorial candidate Tom McClintock, who trails only Arnold Schwarzenegger and Lt. Gov. Cruz Bustamante in opinion polls, is barred from publishing a position statement in the voter's guide for the Oct. 7 recall election because he did not fill out the required form according to guidelines.

10 reasons not to vote for Arnold. He is an opportunist.
He entered the race late.
He gets flustered easily on simple questions that he should have been prepared for.
He does not want to debate.
He does not want to sign a no-tax pledge.
He has out-of-state liberal advisors.
He is not a California native.
There is a better qualified alternative (McClintock).
RINOs tend to do the opposite of what they pledge to do in their election campaign.
If the Demos have a dirt bomb on him, they can drop it any time to defuse him, or use it as blackmail.
Here's a bonus reason:
I really don't need anyone to tell me how to vote anyway. I'll vote for the best candidate and if other's don't, that's their problem, not mine.
