I'm more than willing to take my chances with a third party. How much worse could they possibly be than what we have now? I'm not alone in getting totally fed up with big government working against the people.

"Bush and his whole administration are complicit!"

When Bush gets re-elected he will be able to do so much more than he is doing now. No more compromises

This same line was used by Republicans to justify the reelection of Dwight Eisenhower and Richard Nixon as well. It may have even been said of Gerald Ford in 1976. Even Reagan's second term was less successful in some ways than his first, as the Democrats nearly removed him over Iran-contra. Certainly this was said of the need to reelect the first President Bush, which I gladly did, considering the two alternatives.

That's exactly the same misguided rationale used by Conservatives who voted for Perot and other Third Party candidates, or who didn't vote at all. They abanoned the GOP and we all know what happened. And they still blame it on Bush; not one of them are honest enough to take the blame for what they did to our country. They created a monster and the Clintons are not done with us yet.

Nothing misguided about it. We need a third party before both the Dems and Pubbies steal the whole darn country. Both parties are afraid of another choice just as organized crime bosses don't like anyone cutting into their territory. Heaven forbid that we actually put someone in office who truly represents the interests of the citizens and the country. Two party system is hopelessly corrupted and it is time for a change.

It's a big loser for both the GOP and the Conservatives and a winner for the Democrats — as you know. A separate Conservative Party would get lost among all the other third parties. Conservatives have to remain in the GOP if they want to remain as part of a major party, otherwise they'll have no say-so about who becomes President. They will wither on the vine.

There are other options, like not voting either demokrat or republican at the national level. That's my plan.

Ain't no such thing as a "firebreathing conservative". It's a contadiction of terms.

Conservatives basically support what's left after their last defeat. Conservatives don't fight to win, only to 'conserve' what's left.

Let the GOP twist on the vine when conservatives leave it. They betrayed us, not us them. A viable third party even though small, would have tremendous power over the two larger corrupted organizations.
