The ACLU and other liberals tried to use the "public accommodation" angle on the Boy Scouts and lost.

They lost the battle. The war still rages on. Witness that judge in San Diego who agreed with a pair of gay "parents" that the Scouts' long-term $1 lease in a public park was un-Constitutional because the Scouts were, in his skewed view, "a religious organization," which allowed him to use the canard of separation of church and state to boot them off.

"I feel called to respond to my parish and the local parish school because of my developed Catholicism," she said. "I want my daughter to receive a Catholic education that will be in keeping with her teachings at home, and I want to become part of a Catholic community again like I was when I was a child."

Translation---> I "found" my religion just in time to exploit my child and use her like a club to beat and humiliate the Church. Plus, there might be a few bucks in it for me."

Someone want to check and see when she had her first meeting with the ACLU? Before or after she enrolled her child...

The RCC does not, as a matter of doctrine, ordain women and that doctrine has been declared unchangeable by John Paul II.>>

Explain please therefore the American Episcopate.

It's a private school. They don't have to admit anyone they don't want for whatever reason they don't want.

Unless the first amendment to the Constitution is going to continue to be ripped to shreds and wrongly interrupted.

What they are trying to lay the foundation for, IMHO, is to have ALL schools subject to discrimination laws...

Exactly, Teacher. We saw this one coming, didn't we?

Thanks for the ping, Salvation.

Why would you want to place your child somewhere where she is going to be taught that what you are doing is wrong in God's eyes anyway?

To give the ACLU a test case, of course.

I have already explained why this is another case of phony "moral equivalency." That homosexuality is "intrinsically disordered behavior", i.e., it can NEVER be legitimate, is the doctrine of the Roman Catholic Church. Apparently you don't agree with that doctrine. Therefore, you impugn the motives of those who would draw at least some moral line. You are defining deviancy down by phony "moral equivalency" arguments which amount to moral relativism. So what? What makes you think that your opinion counts? We are not a democracy for members of the Church. Those who are not members have no standing whatsoever. We pay the bills. You don't. Butt out.

>>"'queer' is now an acceptable term...."<<

Just about anything is acceptable EXCEPT the correct term: Sodomite.

And queers highjacked the lovely word "gay," which was once properly used to mean happy and carefree.

These people are perverted and I agree with a previous poster who said it smelled like a set-up.

I hope the Catholics stand their ground.

Please tell how it is apparent that I think that the Catholic Church should accept homosexuality? Come on now, I know you carefully read what I wrote, so it should be easy.

You are defining deviancy down by phony "moral equivalency" arguments which amount to moral relativism.

Tell me how I am "defining deviancy down"? Or is that from the imaginary post where I said that homosexuality was not a sin.

So what? What makes you think that your opinion counts? We are not a democracy for members of the Church. Those who are not members have no standing whatsoever. We pay the bills. You don't. Butt out.

Who made you a moderator on this board? Guess what, I can say whatever I want regarding the Catholic Church within the rules of Free Republic, negative or positive. I don't particular care whether my comments "count" or not.

If my opinion doesn't matter, then what is with the attitude?

I can't help but wonder if this story plus the Trenton story you pinged me to about the Catholic churches being denied money is connected.

The Catholic Schools have recently been very short on cash and are closing one by one.

The thing with the two catholic schools in w. orange and jersey were nothing but political ploys and had nothing to do with helping out catholic schools. These two pro abortion, Democrat, NJ State Senators did that strictly for political reasons to butter up the catholic vote illegally using the taxpayers' money.

If they are true to their convictions, they would vote pro life and start a school voucher program. They are terrible people who are inherently evil and politically calculating and should be booted out of office.

Catholic schools are closing weekly in NJ and elsewhere in the USA, these democrat senators are concerned with keeping their voting base by these grants. Astro turf isn't a priority for Catholic Education.

The part about the lesbians is a put on and a rouse, scheme and tactic hedging for something more evil than to have their children to attend. They want to get the press to negatively report about a catholic school and put their homosexual agenda out in the forefront for activism, discussion and their cause. It's going to cost the diocese thousands to defend themselves just like the boy scouts.

>>>It's going to cost the diocese thousands to defend themselves just like the boy scouts.

Is it pertinent that the diocese has separated themselves from the catholic school system as of 2002 in this arguement? The Catholic Schools no longer receive money from them. Hence they are in worse position financially.
