Bustamante Defends Racist Group
NewsMax.com ^ | 8/29/03 | Carl Limbacher and NewsMax.com Staff

California gubernatorial candidate Cruz Bustamante is not only refusing to repudiate the radical "bronze" supremacist organization MEChA, he's defending it.

"The students who are in MEChA today are just like the students when I was there. Pretty much they are trying to get an education," the Democrat lieutenant governor insisted Thursday.

"For me and many, many others, we were running for student government," he said. "That is how I got here today."

Previously his campign told NewsMax.com that his ties to MEChA were a "non-issue" that nonetheless should be addressed.

Official Language OK for Mexico, but ...

Meanwhile, Latino activists who don't object to Mexico having Spanish as its official language say GOP candidate Arnold Schwarzenegger should quit the advisory board of U.S. English, a group that wants to make English the official language of the United States.

"We are tremendously disturbed by Schwarzenegger's continued tenure as a board member of U.S. English, an organization that has strongly advocated for English only and for Proposition 227, which severely limited bilingual education," said Hector Flores, national president of League of United Latin American Citizens, despite the dismal failure of bilingual ed in America.

Schwarzenegger's spokesman Sean Walsh said the actor agreed with efforts to make English the official language.

"Arnold Schwarzenegger came to this country with a few dollars in his pocket and not speaking the English language, and he realized the importance of learning to speak English as quickly as possible to achieve your American dreams," Walsh said.

'Outrageous Things'

Bustamante is not the only candidate being dogged by his past. Schwarzenegger told reporters he had "no memory" of a 1977 interview for the now-defunct Oui magazine in which he was quoted as boasting about group sex and drug abuse.

"I don't know what you are talking about," he said in Fresno when asked about the article. "I'm here to push my economic agenda. I'm here to listen to people. I'm here to have a rally. ... I have no memory of an interview I did 20 or 30 years ago."

Asked about the article during a radio show Wednesday, he replied that he often said "ludicrous" and "outrageous" things.

Rob Stutzman, a spokesman, said Schwarzenegger had said outrageous things in his past, but the "public understands those are decades old."

Bustamante is not racist. He is not white European, therefore he is not a bigot.

And this Kool-aid tastes pretty good, too.

You think it was any better in the 70's when he was in college?

I have no problem with going back to his involvment and getting information. There are students who are coming forward with first hand testimony right now though. Testimony about training seminars in Mexico with elected California officials connected with known violent Marxist groups in central America.

These seminars come replete with manuals, telling the students how to form insurrection, undermine institutions, and take money from America. In any language it would be seditious and treasonous. This information should be shoved up Bustanazi's ass as they close the jail cell door.

Busta's friends are typical liberals. New nationalistic sect forms and we have to show tolerance and understanding. But the sect itself doesn't have to... We are oppresing the great Atzlan nation. We are oppreesing a lot of great stuff but the liberal media have not told us the exact names yet. Wait and see.

Should cost him lots of black and white votes

It would if the media were to give it fair coverage.

What do you think is the likelyhood of the SJ Merc, LA Times & SacBee plus local TV news networks giving the charges anything more than a (very brief) mention? If that.

They didn't dwell on Gray's unethical fundraising habits or his budget lies even though they were apparent before the last election, and they won't bother with Bustamonte's racist ties before this one either, I'm afraid.

Cultural background and values which ignore materialism and embrace humanism will contribute to the act of cooperative buying and the distribution of resources and production to sustain an economic base for healthy growth and development Lands rightfully ours will be fought for and defended. Land and realty ownership will be acquired by the community for the people's welfare. Economic ties of responsibility must be secured by nationalism and the Chicano defense units.

Pure, unadulterated, Marxism/Leninism. In other words, lets screw up America the way we screwed up Mexico. Leftists never learn.

Unfortunately, there are too many in this state that think those same econommic policies are just what California needs. With any luck, they'll all be busy getting stoned on election day and get lost on the way to the polls.

Yeah -- just like the past didn't matter to them a STITCH when President Bush's DUI (no conviction) charge from the '70s was released the weekend before the 2000 election. (insert sarcasm here).

The fact is, things matter to the Dems and the press when it is convenient, and the same things do not matter when it is not convenient for them to matter.

I was thinking the same thing. He doesn't have the power. Actually, he does, he is Lt Governor. I wonder if I could sell him a bridge?

He'll beach himself if the conservatives don't kill each other off first.

Between his AZTLAN and slips of the dung he should be history by now.

An interesting thing to watch is whether the young hispanics who are Ah-Noldt's biggest fans register and vote in numbers enough to blunt the older hispanic leftist voters.

Let's keep an eye on the demographics after the election.

Shame George P. Bush can't stop out in CA to give Conservatives a boost.

Next year he will.
