The only electable Republican in the race is
McClintock and he will be a great governor.
Arnold would be a disaster if he became
governor but Arnold will not be governor.

Being a professional "runner" for public office all of his adult life, this might make a nice change of pace for Tom.
Put me down for 1/10 of a cent per mile - that'll double his campaign war chest if he makes it to the end of the block.

Yes, Tom is not going to win the race. I believe he knows this, but needs to stay in a bit longer to get more name recognition in order to take on Boxer, later. Go Tom! We need you in the Senate much more than in Sacramento!
To: GSWarrior
Well, I went to his website, by gosh. CNN is promoting him, can you imagine? I fell asleep before I found the locations.

You RINO!
Geeesh...
I was right. Calling a fellow Freeper a RINO does make me feel like a fool.
I wonder why it doesn't seem to bother others.

Tom dropped out of an "unwinnable" congressional race early in his career - one where Bob Hope's son was running. As it turns out, the unbeatable Tony Hope fell apart in the final weeks of the campaign, and the "unelectable" Elton Gallegly won the GOP nomination. I doubt Tom will let history repeat itself.

I love Tom McClintock's positions and would vote for him if he had a chance. Nevertheless, if it's clear he doesn't have a chance by mid-September, he MUST exit the race or else he will be history. If Bust-a-Monty wins, the only thing that Tom will be remembered for (forever) is that he cost the Republican's the governorship. Forget about amustatewide office, forget about a US Senate seat. No one will remember his positions. He'll be history.
To: Cousin Eddie
Oh yes, yet another courageous "stick the finger to the wind" poll jockey... this is getting tiresome. And sickening.

And the Republican Party can't make any credible threats against McClintock. They've never lifted a finger to help him his entire political career. He's always been the outsider.
You RINOs better start thinking of some carrots instead of the usual stick.

If Cruz wins it won't be because of Tom.
It will be because of Arnold negatives,
lack of message, etc... and Arnold's splitting
the Republican vote.
To: ambrose
Listen. I'm talking facts. I'm not talking about the Republican Party organization. Plain ordinary Republicans will blame him. And don't tell me that if Bus wins by 2% and McClintock takes 15% that Tom won't be the reason for Arnold losing.
Republican purists need to understand one thing: "the Best is the enemy of the Better." Reagan understood it. Bush understands it. Sometimes you can't get everything you want, and if you hold out for everything, you get NOTHING!!!!!!!
To: Cousin Eddie
if you hold out for everything, you get NOTHING!!!!!!!And if you hold out for nothing, that's exactly what you'll get... NOTHING!
The way I figure it is either we'll get a Rat who favors illegal immigration and higher taxes, a RINO who favors illegal immigration and higher taxes, or a true conservative who will work to change the system. I choose the true conservative.
That's why I am will be Walking for Tom. I hope to convince enough people to jump off the Ahnold bandwagon so we can get keep a lying RINO piece of garbage from becoming governor. And if Tom is elected, so much the better.
