I still have in my possession a video tape of a hearing held in DC regarding Prop 209. DC -- the Big house. Orrin Hatch, Diane Feinstein present... etc. And Kevin Nguyen testifying on behalf of 209 as to its merits, statistics, law. Mr. Nguyen is awesome with facts, data, knowing the decorum of political court, as well as the full spectrum of drafting initiatives and the laws. And besides all that? I don't think you could find a more refined and honorable, and non-self-absorbed or non-self-obsessed GENTLEman -- in politics or out. No coward, no bully. No liar, no hack for hire or election. Kevin is a man of his word.
And since Diane Feinstein is so concerned over the possible deleterious effects that Arnold Schwarzenneger's movies "might" have on "children" -- she might just publically swat a few of her own "party members" for their despicable, non-civil behaviors at that hearing. Mr. Gray Davis, Mr. Bustamante, Madams Feinstein and Boxer -- Your party is being represented by Horton and Dymally. Do you concur Horton/Dymally's treatment of one of California's own citizens? How about all the money the Dem Legislature TAKES from the taxpayer to pay for... "conflict resolution"... "sensitivity training".. diversity consultancy" programs either in Public Education, Colleges, and as enforced by EEOC upon California's private businesses and government-subsidized bureacracies? Do Dianne Feinstein, Barbara Boxer and Gray Davis "feel" compelled to send their own party members through the very same programs they force on everyone else here in CA? If not, they really might consider doing so.
Oh! Perhaps Prop 54 proponents might consider suing the Legislature for creating a "hostile hearing environment"? Every-day citizens have been fired, harassed, and penalized for words and behaviors far less demeaning than what Horton/Dymally have said and done. Definitely conduct NOT becoming gentleman, much less legislature in the state which constitutes 1/6th of the US economy; and currently in an election recall of the governor who represents the party of Dymally and Horton.

The Democrats and their race hustler buddies fear the truth exactly as cockroaches fear the light. They scurry away from it.

Well said Mr. Nguyen. Sounds like Dymally is a real jerk. How dysmal. Abysmally, Dymally is typically rude and arrogant for a politician.

Now, did I hear that this prop 54 idea may be in the making in the Federal Congress too?

You are so right -- the Democrats and opponents to Prop 54 simply WILL not sensibly discuss this initiative. They lie, they resort to fearmongering -- but discuss it? Debate the initiative on its merits?

You got Dymally pegged. Dymally just got his bill passed with Gray Davis' Hancock -- AB 703. AB 703 brings old UN wording on "racism" into the matter in order to eviscerate Proposition 209 - repealing quotas and preferential affirmative action. Prop 209 won with a majority of CA votes in 1996.
AB 703 rewrites the meanings of "racism" and "preferences".

I am a retired Army officer (artillery, MI, and chaplain). I have the privilege of teaching several classes in Colorado Springs to high school, college, and adults on comparative worldviews (biblical vs secular). As I read the various threads, some impress me as good for illustrating different worldviews. So, using some Army terminology, I mark "incidents" as "SPOTREPS" (spot report) and "descriptions of the current world scene" as "SITREPs" (situation reports). INTREP (Intelligence Report) provides information of an event involving those of the "opposition;" INTSUM (Intelligence Summary) provides more general information. When I get home, I download these SPOTREPs and SITREPs to a database for future use.
Does that help?

I hadn't heard this -- what exactly did you hear or where from, pls? It may have just been hear-say or I misunderstood... or perhaps wishful thinking.

What I do know is that some states are ready for Prop 54. A few are not quite ready. But I've heard nothing about anything at a fed level -- which IMHO, might be the wrong way to go about this. State by State, state choice, is the way to go, IMHO. And then, possibly at federal; but keeping things simple, respectful is the path, IMHO, of course. :)
