The battle between The SCO Group and the Linux and open-source communities is apparently taking some innocent bystanders hostage.

Take Centershift, a small startup ASP, based in Salt Lake City, that provides services to specific real-estate markets such as self-storage and multi-family residential housing. While Centershift is completely independent of SCO, it does share significant infrastructure with SCO as both companies host portions of their operations from the same hosting facility in Lindon, Utah.

Centershift and those other innocent ones are in a tough spot, kinda like folks who leased office space and then found out NAMBLA had its headquarters in the same building.

Note: The Virginia Bioinformatics Institute runs an IBM Linux cluster.

Virginia Tech is creating a cluster with 1200 Macs in the next few months

The article was about a bunch of jerks (a very small minority) spamming a DC, how is this communist. The truth is you read it somewhere and now repeat it with no reason

I was talking about the one I'm writing exposing the Free Software/Open Source movement and the GPL. ;-).

But others in the community were less sympathetic, saying that the DoS attacks were just as likely to have come from SCO itself. "Given SCO's behavior recently, it's just as likely that they're attacking themselves in their continued attempt to pump up their stock price," one member said, adding that if Centershift's hosting company could not provide it with the services it had contracted for, "then you have grounds to cancel your contract with them."

BINGO! If you sleep with dogs, you get their fleas. Get a different service provider and sue SCO for your losses.

Wow, all the people in the US who own Macs have donated them to Virginia Tech. What I nice thing for them to do.

This does not make the pro-ibm/linux side, my side, look good.

What do you expect? The rest of the world is busy working, producing, building, and learning ... meanwhile, your side is launching DOS attacks because you happen to disagree with a little company that, so far, hasn't hurt any of you.

He's referring to a big anti-Linux/anti-GPL article that he will be presenting at about the same time that SCO identifies the specific code that was stolen from them and put into the Linux kernel.

Just checked my net traffic. No DDoS attacks being launched from my IP address.

Looks like you are once again overgeneralizing. Not surprising, since you don't care about facts when it comes to bashing Linux.
