Oui, I'm voting McClintock. Here are the five reasons why.
Tom McC for guv ^ | Aug. 28, 03 | Churchillbuff

Posted on 08/28/2003 4:26:43 PM PDT by churchillbuff

1. Can't afford more taxes. Really, I'm not making this up -- I'm middle class and they're taxing me to death. Arnold won't sign a no-new-tax pledge, so I have to assume that, with all those Pete Wilsonites on his staff, he's gonna pull a Pete Wilson and raise taxes -- maybe big time.

2. Don't want to see GOP abandon the pro-family issues. We've already got one party that stands for anything goes and yippee! to depravity, abortion and gay adoptions. Why do we need the GOP to say "me too" to Democrats.

3. I supported Reagan (in the primaries) for governor and for president -- the liberal Republicans didn't like me then, either.

4. Tom McClintock has been talking turkey on tax cuts and spending limits for years. During the same years, Arnold's been AWOL.

5. I don't know anything about McClintock's wife -- except she's not a Kennedy.

Enjoy Cruz.

Man, there is no group more deserving of Cruz Bustamante and the Hell he will bring you people than California conservatives. You have no one to blame but yourselves for your problems.

Yup, if I still lived in CalifornicationLand, this would be my biggeee. So Arnie says 'tis OK for our offspring of any-aged adult or minor to be torn limb by limb except for babies already partially born..."big whoop" say many Christian voters who look more at the wardrobe than principle. Principle is to be jettisoned for cookie crumbs.

Do you still stand by this post?

Arnold backers: SHOULD GAYS BE ALLOWED TO ADOPT YOUNG BOYS? Arnold says yes -- do you agree?
AP via Lifesite.net ^ | Aug. 26, 03 | churchillbuff

According to Lifesite, a Nov. 18, 2002 Associated Press article reported that Schwarzenegger describes himself as "very liberal" on social issues and that "He favors legalized abortion…and gay adoption". England's May 30 Guardian newspaper also quotes commentator Bill Bradley stating, "He's pro-choice, pro-gay rights… "

IS THIS REALLY AN ISSUE THAT FREEPERS CAN SWEEP UNDER THE RUG? SHOULDN'T WE DEBATE IT - UNLIKE ABOTION IT'S SOMETHING THAT STATE POLITICIANS CAN REALLY HAVE AN EFFECT OVER. SHOULD GAYS BE ALLOWED TO ADOPT YOUNG

If so, back it up with direct quotes from Arnold.

Texas_Dawg is all bark and no bite. Same for Andy. I mean, given that the Hispanic population is now the majority in CA, Cruz stands a decent shot of winning apart from the "far right" vote. That being said, what if Arnie loses by a margin bigger than the McClintock tally?

If that happens, then you supported a lost cause. If you're a Californian, then you wasted your vote on a "loser" like Arnie (then he would be a loser in more ways than just being an orgy-king @ Gold's Gym or a Kill-off-Kalifornia's-Kids-King in the name of "pro-choice"). So, TX_Dawg, if Arnie loses by a bigger margin than what McClintock takes in, will you bark @ those who voted for a loser like Arnie?

When that time comes, then all this will be more than Cruz being elected...for CA Repub voters would have just sent a message to the entire Repub party that life & death issues & key GOP platforms & principles mean nothing to you as a voter...you're willing to sell them all if you can only wear the GOP garb to the gubernatorial ball.

We can almost guarantee that Arnold will raise taxes. He reserves the right to do so in case of emergency or disater. Well, I guarantee you this state is a fiscal disaster and it won't take long for Buffet, Wilson and Co to declare a state of emergency exists as well. I doubt they hold off until the 60 day audit is conducted either. They'll start planning on when and where they can raises taxes and fees immediately upon taking office (if not already in the planning stages).

Well, a lot of folks way back when said...slavery will never be illegal in the US or UK...PERIOD...Lots of folks--including religious folk...not only allowed for slavery but own slaves themselves.

The UK, despite a lucrative economy coming from the slave industry, overturned it all the in the lifetime of one (and only) evangelical legislator...Wm Wilberforce.

If God had put your lifetime in the late 1700s in the UK, your naysaying would have seemed right on the $.

Don't forget God in your flesh-happy fortunetelling & conjectures & predictions & forecasts. He might surprise you. Making babies, is, after all, still His worksmanship. And an attack upon them is a direct attack upon Him.

And wouldn't it be cool if we dated supermodels, had a billion dollars each, drove a tank for fun, and had our own airplanes? ROFLMAO

back it up with direct quotes from Arnold.

Are you suggesting I've libeled or slandered him? Sorry, but not when I've done nothing more than pass along a report from the AP. If Arnold has disavowed the belief that the AP attributed to him, please supply the press release or news story in which he did so. And do have a nice day!

I'd be willing to bet money - if I had any - that Buffet's already got the plan ready to go as we speak.

churchillbuff,

Nice post.

I would add,

6] Tom is clear on the affirmative action/multi-culti issue. He backed 209 and 187 actively, Ron Unz, author of 227 has given him money for this campaign, and he is strong in support of Connerly's prop 54.

7] Tom is eloquent and lucid on principles in his speeches. He admires Lincoln and understands the importance of the Declaration's thought to contemporary issues, and he can make that clear to the public.

8] Tom understands the threat of the gay rights offensive, which has been powerful in recent days in CA, and he makes no bones about resisting it.

9] Tom knows that Californians like myself [native, 55 years old] used to be proud of our public works such as freeways and parks, and he feels in his gut the desire to return to the Golden State I grew up in, and loved.

10] Tom is forthright about the dangers of illegal immigration and especially when the immigrants are taught by the left to resist assimilation.

Finally, Tom has run two excellent statewide races, is good on radio and TV, and can, with grassroots support and money, win.

Cheers,

Richard F.

Honestly, I've seen some really, really dumb analyses of political races on FR. But that post is hands down the stupidest post regarding a political race I have ever seen, on FR or anywhere. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

But seriously... that's the dumbest post I've ever seen on FR. Congrats.
