You would think, or at least I would, that a columnist would consider his audience and try to have a point.
This goes a long way toward explaining why illiteracy is so high. I want to be illiterate after reading just four paragraphs.

Meanwhile, the only mistake I could find in Franken's heavily fact-checked tome is a relatively minor one on page 34. In a footnote referring to a story in this newspaper, Franken refers to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette without its patented hyphen.Since Tony, the proofreader supreme and oracle of all facts, could only find one mistake there is no need to question anything in the book
