Vanity, but not - MALDEF Lawsuit to Halt October 7th Vote in CA

Please see the pdf at maldef -- it concerns the October 7th recall which Maldef is attempting to "delay" under a "voting rights act". I believe this hearing will be heard (again) this Friday. Nonetheless, the prime plaintiff is Aurelio Salazar (et al. v. Monterey County et al.)

I'm posting all this in light of Busta's past in re Mecha/Aztlan. Perhaps one might see this as "coincidence"? Mr. Salazar is a self-identified "Chicano".

My point in posting this? Bustamante's spokesman/campaign chairman says Bustamante's "past" involvement with a racialist group is a "non-issue". I disagree. Same organization, Maldef also has filed suit (according to their website) against Ward Connerly.

This Mecha/Aztlan stuff is very radical.. Everyone should check out what these people are doing.

The argument is that they can't get an extra half million wetbacks up from Mexico by then to vote. It is estimated that they would vote 1.3 million times for Bustamente. Thus, the 10/7 election disenfranchises these folks.

IMO MALDEF, La Raza, and MECHA are basicly the same. While some may be less offensive, they are each a race based propagandist tool. If the white race can't establish an organization for advocacy of their rights, why can other races? This has baffled me for a long time. Racial supremacy, is what race organiztions are all about. They seek to elevate their special interest group to prominence. Either this is wrong for all races, or it's okay for every race.

I've been pushing that for the last ten years. Almost everyone you mention this to passes it off as a "black helicopter" type subject. Now if there was white racist separatist involvement, these folks would be very upset about it. For some reason, they pass the same things off when it involves other races.

They also advocate open assistance to illegal aliens. These people are an Enemy of the US and should be treated as such.

But .. Not even Sean Hannity will discuss these people. Everyone is scared of them.

VOTE ON PROP. 54 WARD CONNERLY INITIATIVE MUST BE POSTPONED, SAYS MALDEF IN LAWSUIT

Hastened October election date violates Voting Rights Act, according to the Latino civil rights organization (SAN JOSE, CALIF.) In a lawsuit filed in federal court today, stating that an October 7, 2003 election date would not allow for adequate public debate, MALDEF is calling for Postponement of the vote on Proposition 54, Ward Connerly’s proposal to ban information, the Classification by Race, Ethnicity, Color or National Origin (CRECNO) Initiative. The lawsuit, Salazar v. Monterey County (San Jose District Court, Case No. 03-03584) asserts that moving up the date of the election by nearly five months from March 2, 2004 violates Section 5 of the federal Voting Rights Act, which is designed to protect minority voters. Under the Act, voting procedures for citizens in certain counties of California, including Monterey County, may not be changed without first obtaining federal approval. Under established state procedures, voters are entitled to inspect the ballot pamphlet at least 100 days before the election on any ballot measure. Under the current timeline, however, they are only being allowed 57 days. We’ve been through this once before when Monterey County failed to preclear voting changes,” said plaintiff Bill Melendez of Monterey. “It’s frustrating when the county’s actions continue to adversely affect the ability of Latinos to participate in the democratic process.” Added MALDEF Vice President of Litigation Thomas A. Saenz: “The ballot pamphlet is the only universally available explanation of the issues surrounding a ballot initiative. Adequate time to debate and consider the analysis and arguments in the pamphlet is essential to an informed California vote. This is especially important when an initiative is as misleading as Proposition 54.”

Thank you. I agree that Ward Connerly's Prop 54 is important. I hope that it becomes law and goes unchallenged. If Schwarzenegger is elected, he may not promote it as he should. His team is still going over that one and I'm not confident he's going to come down on the right side. McClintock would for sure.

McClintock is a very fine man and legislator. He was also involved with passage of Prop 209. A very knowledgeable man. I met with some pro-Dem supporters last night. These Dems at least have some open lobes. Despite the "no recall/yes Busta" - they are voting for Arnold. They said they know McClintock would make a superb governor; however, they said they also know the Dem voting base: Lockstep with Dem party agenda.

One thing brought to my attention by a journalist, yesterday? I know it's obvious; but I think it really should be SAID:

Republicans work with Democrats.

Democrats never work with Republicans.

History, especially CA history reveals that if this continues -- so does violence and brawls. This anti-violence (Arnie) agenda by Dems is so calculated -- when it is themselves, in fact, who refuse to actually work with anyone but themselves.
