Okay, now I feel okay putting Scientology on the back burner. I got this from someone very close to them, very reliable, and in the area:
I don't think you need to worry about them in this case, though, because there's been nothing to suggest their involvement.
However, I think you're barking up the wrong tree here. There are MANY
cult-watchers and former cult members who keep an eye on the news
(especially news in this part of Florida) and look for cult connections.
Nothing about this case has been noteworthy from that perspective.
